Just sipped on T.D. Breuax's new Absinthe...IMO, too much honey, too much mint...tastes like a rip-off of the Switz's "Clandestine La Bleue'", which made me vomit (even after only half a liter of %53 ABV). Still nowhere as good as Kallnacher's "Essai 1" pre-ban, nor Fougerolle's "Au Blanche", for that matter. Stick to the verde's or the Fougrerolle's blanche on the next round, trust me.
I don't know of anyone who drinks 1/2 a liter of ANY absinthe. And Kallnacher v Ted's, and Ballknocker wins? I am surprised. What is this "new" offering that Ted has, if I may ask? Are you talking about the NO? The Eddy? The Verte d'Swisse? These absinthes are not new. I am not trying to be a horse's rear, but am an absinthe fan, and am down with debunking crap. I think that if you like the Kallnacher over any Jade, you are a first in the world of absinthe. I do love the Verte de Fougerelle.
http://www.absintheonline.com/acatalog/Jade.html Err, I drink ATLEAST .5 L of 'sinthe. Err, Kallnocher wins vs. Ted's, yes, the the blanche is a LOSER!!!!! Bah. Verte' Swiss? No, since the Fougreloulles? Bah, of course not. The Clandestine tastes like my ass like the taste of Chocolate Winter or December of Blasphemy, BAH. I agree with you, sand, but SHIT...La' Fee'?11!?!?!?!??!?!!one1!?!?1/!?eleventeen!?111?!!!one1!?!1!?!!?
Jesus, I blacked out. I remember the second post, but that third one...eesh; I think that took place between the time I told my sister I'm engaged (which I'm not) and between the time I called in sick to work due to severe intoxication. *lol*
Again, any Jade is not "new", and $75 a bottle is an awful lot to be getting blacked out on. Surely you were drinking something else along the way? I couldnt imagine such waste otherwise...
I'm wanting to order some absinthe. I would like something mid range price wise...what would you two recommend, and what site would you order from? thanks, been looking, but heard there is plenty of garbage out there
First, I would go here, http://www.wormwoodsociety.org/ and read as much as you can. If you decide to make an order, I would go here http://www.absintheonline.com/. I would start out with the Kübler 53, 1 liter. Seriously, the BEST starter absinthe-very pleasant, a very good daily drinker. The price at 40 pounds can't be beat. I do want to warn you about shipping costs, though. They can be prohibitive, but courier is THE ONLY way to go. I don't order through any one else but Liqueurs de France-they have never let me down and customer service is second to none.
