So who all in here fishes? i absolutely love fishing... i try to get out every single day after the water thaws... i dont like ice fishing... i believe in an off season... every sport has it... and so should fishing lol... but anywho... i love fishing from largemouth bass, catfish, pike, and recently trout... and really just whatever bites... i find fishing completely relaxing... being out on a beach or in the woods on some creek away from everyone except for a friend or two and away from everything...
i just fish for sport... not for food.. catch and release... some times i snap a picture... never had any fish mounted... who knows though.. i just started trout fishing.. if i can catch some nice size rainbows... i might fillet them up... i like pan fried rainbows
I love to fish, but haven't done in much in the past couple years. I'm really looking forward to fishing for stripers and blues now that I'm next to the ocean. I would say my favorite fresh water fish to catch are without question small mouth bass. pound for pound they put up the best fight. I always throw em' back. I think I've kept and ate a total of two fish in my life. I can't get over the whole killing thing, even if it is for food.
its not the killing that bothers me... i hate cleaning fish... if someone else would clean the fish i catch... i'd keep more
i like going fishing, but i havent been out for ages. hmm.... i think you planted a seed with this thread. ps, bait your own hook, clean your own catch
I like fishing, but I wouldn't really call it a sport. I mean, basically you're just counting on fish being retarded. I guess it's a sport if you use a harpoon, but tricking trout is one of those kinda fool me twice shame on me things. Other fish should have told them by 2006.
its far from "hoping the fish is retarded"... you need to know your waters... understand what kind of bait fish and other food are in the body of water and what lure will best imitate their prey... depending on weather conditions what colors to use.. how deep to fish.. fish slow or fast... what kind of presentation.. it can change from day to day.. one day fishing slow on the bottom will produce.. the next day they could be wanting to hit faster presentions closer to the top... its more than just "dumb luck"
I caught a master angler walleye, and my husband accidentally let it go.... fuck I could've swam after the damn thing.
i take the girls fishing about three to four times over the summer. i just like to cast out the line. wont bait em, (powerbait) and i wont clean em.
fishing is pretty boring I mean, I love eating fish but catching 'em on my own, eehh I did catch a pretty big one once, when I was younger, fishing with my dad. If my dad asked me to go fishing, I probly would, just because I don't get to spend much time with him. It seems like such a waste of time to me though, bu, that's just me
fishin is a great excuse fur takin a walk down by the creek, but why the heck should i need an excuse? been a good bit of a while since i've been. if it's where you can get near to with a vehicule, back when i was doin things that way, i'd take an insulbox fulla ice, and clean em right there and throw em in the ice to freeze on the way home. yah it's maybe slow some times, but that's the whole idea, part of it anyway, kind of like a form of meditation, to get away from all that big deal everythings gotta be some kind of excitement crap. =^^= .../\...
I've gone fishing a couple of times. My hubby insisted that we'd throw the fish back, because I felt guilty about catching them. But I ended up hooking a poor fish through his eyeball. I still feel sad about that, and that was almost a year ago. Sure, he got off alive, but I blinded the poor thing! So, no more fishing for me. However, it's so relaxing to be up outside before the sun barely rises, how still the air is, the peaceful tranquility.
