Most dramatic it is in nuclear area. US has been long creating hurdles not to ratify Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty throughout the last 9 years or so. And they are applying vigorous effort to upgrade their nukes to stay number 1 in world nuclear club. Needless to say in this case they could easily subdue any country not corresponding to their ‘vital national interests’ especially those rich in natural resources. This is absolutely cynical and egoistic approach of USA doesn’t match its status of sole superpower in the world! Their lust to ‘bring democracy’ to regional countries is definitely their lust to dictate their will to rest of the world. Their policy to stop WMD proliferation is to bar countries from having defensive nuclear weapon! Most Middle East countries with huge oil reserves so much lusted by USA are well aware of this challenge. Politicians and peoples in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Iran see Iraq as kind of lesson. If Saddam Hussein had defensive nukes in his possession Americans would have never occupied his country casing deaths of many Iraqis. I guess the way of Lybia which abandoned her nuclear program to get ‘compensation’ via American donations into her oil processing facilities is no guarantee at all. Let’s call a spade a spade. Americans are instigating nuclear race in the world and that could result in world scale disaster one day. Joint international effort is needed to stop America.
nukes = power Iraq, is a great example for the Middle East that the American ruling class is after them.
Its good to see the left supporting totalitarian theocracies in their quest for nuclear weapons. If Saddam had nukes he would have never left Kuwait, and may have invaded Saudi Arabia too. And this oil theory is getting really lame. We didn't take Iraq's oil. They sell it, and we buy it, exactly the same as it was under Saddam. You've had years to come up with a credible oil conspiracy argument, yet you're still relying on slogans. Why is that?
ahh.... actually the usa had "no opinion" about iraq invading iraq. the americans are on record for giving this response. they decided to sit back say nothing and then pretend as if they hadn't done anything wrong. why should saddam contact the yanks?? well they had supported him so resolutely for so many years by so many people, people like reagan and rumsfeld this is why he still pines for reagan. even an office junior could have give saddam a commonsense "no" about the invasion. as i remember it at the time it was being debated in the american parliament that the military funding be slashed as russia had called it quits and the phenomenal amount of money wasted on weapons could be re directed to more productive pastimes. it wasn't too long after that the invasion of kuwait came and it came quickly.
