I'm not sure that I can agree that being boiled alive is worse than the way cattle are raised for slaughter. Either way, I can ethically eat anything regardless of how it's life is ended. No matter how I die, something is inevitably going to eat me. It's the way life goes.
Stop it. Played out. You can either listen to the idiots or the intelligent people- in either case, this debate is way too played out. Fish is meat. People that eat fish are pescatarians at best.
It's not played out in here. I don't go in the meat free zone so I don't know what they have decided but in here nothing is played out unless I tell you it's played out, got it? Now that I'm back I will get my authority back on and things will be anti normal once again and that's a Sandoz thing. (teasing) lol
For the record, fish are meat, and can feel pain. That's not to say they understand pain like we do, they just respond to the stimuli of danger, which plants also do, just in a less direct manner. As to how much fish "feel pain" I don't really care. There are lots of problems in the world, and how fish feel about the state of things is a low priority. Theres probably virtue in not wanting anything to feel pain, but most of the vegetarians I've meet have very little knowledge of human rights, and very little interaction with nature aside from their pets. I was dealing with some 17 year olds here a while ago who said animals were slaves. That's pretty revolting when you consider that millions of people are still slaves. Of course they were white and living in Ohio.
You are on the wrong post or the wrong medication lol. I ahven't figured out which one yet but you sound like fun.
vegetarians don't eat fish. wannabe vegetarians use the title, loudly, repeatedly and in an asinine manner, and then order fish so that the next veg asks: "What do you have that is vegetarian friendly?" and gets the answer: tuna. Does it grow from seaweed? I don't think so.... Y'know , you are allowed to read the posts in veg. We are rather protective but legitimate questions are fine. just don't go on about your aunt/sister/brother/neighbor's best friend who went veg for a week and died from malnutrition.... puhleeese
I don't have one of them but thanks for the invite lol. I have an aunt that has been a vegan for a good 25 years. She eats imitation meat and doesn't eat cheese or drink milk.
What if they eat a little soy sculpture of a fish? You see, vegetarians can't keep their story straight.
I consider fish to be an animal and I believe them to have feelings and I do eat fish occasionally, which is why I don't really consider myself to be a real vegetarian. I just tell people that I am if I am going to their house to eat or something because I would just as well have just vegetables and it makes it easier for them to understand.
and those people are idiots There really isn't a valid arguement out there that suggests that people who eat fish can consider themselves vegetarians. Fish have flesh, they bleed, they breed, they socialize with other fish, they do essentially everything that a cow or chicken does only under water.
the fact of tha matter is, all life has feelings on one form or another...and mans definition of feelings needs to be GREATLY expanded...at least the native peoples of several countries give thanks to the animal for giving its life for food...we just TAKE!!!
