Veiled Saudi woman ‘humiliated’ at German airport (Agencies) 13 May 2006 RIYADH — A Saudi woman was humiliated by airport officials in Germany because she refused to remove her veil or ‘hijab’ for inspection, Al Watan daily reported yesterday. The old woman visited Munich for medical reasons and was with her son at the airport last Sunday on their way back. “When I walked by the security check, an official demanded that I remove my ‘hijab’. I asked her to take me to a private room or that we step behind a curtain. It infuriated her and she shouted at my face, attracting the attention of everyone in the terminal,” the woman said. “She finally took me to a room, but went on abusing me.” Then, a male official too started abusing her, reminding her that 'she is in Germany.'” The woman explained to another official what had happened and told him that she had complied with all the security requirements and still was treated terribly. He attempted to make his colleagues apologise, but they not only refused to do so, but instead kept shouting with no regard for her age or poor health. It all seemed to be because of the ‘hijab’, she said. People should respect anothers customs when they visit their home. If it is customary to search a person, and that person is not comfortable being searched, they should not go into the person's (who customarily searches others) home and expect special treatment- they are the guest. Respect the homeowners customs and laws. If they are uncomfortable with allowing you into their home without searching you, either do not enter their home, or humbly accept that you must be searched to satisfy the homeowner's pecularities.
Perhaps they don't care about customers in Germany, but in Canada that screening officer would have been fired...(I have a screening officer in my family ) They have to be polite and respectful.

The women should have just taken off the hijab. That's all. She didn't need to make a scene and request special treatment. Seriously, if you can't see this, you probably should never fly. The other day, I got searched (a patdown), while I went through the security checkpoint. I did not refuse to do what the TSA agent told me to do, I complied to the best of my ability and was friendly. He was just doing his job. I didn't say "please take me to a special room" or anything like that, I tried to do exactly what they told me too. Until the women complained and wanted special treatment, everything was fine. Let that be a lesson to her.
If you are not aware of the laws of a country, do not go there, and especially dont start a fuss. If you go to germany, comply by their rules for entry, or go back to your own country. Would you allow a man with his face hidden behind something to enter your country? Would it be strange to tell that man to show his face? He might be a murderer that the police is looking for... Stupid things before your face, remove them if requested, or leave again.
Tourism agencies should tell people about this stuff before they go to these countries, sheesh. That old lady could have taken off her hajib before she got to security, that nun could have left her bible somewhere, etc. You must respect others customs, if your brothers are offended by bibles, don't bring them to your brothers house. If your brother is afraid you are hiding something, you must take off your Hajib to reassure him. It is that simple. Follow the rules of your brothers house while you are a guest. When he is a guest of your house, he should follow your rules.

Quraan:[005:008] O you who believe! [Yes Lord, I am one of those who believe] Stand out firmly for Allah and be just witnesses and let not the enmity and hatred of others make you avoid justice. Be just: that is nearer to piety, and fear Allah. Verily, Allah is WellAcquainted with what you do. Quraan:[006:152] ... And whenever you give your word (i.e. judge between men or give evidence, etc.), say the truth even if a near relative is concerned, and fulfill the Covenant of Allah, This He commands you, that you may remember.
