Sorry friends, but I believe that our gas and oil problem will plague us until it's depletion. You see, oil and automobiles are the most successful industries on our planet at the moment. Lets examine the top 10 global fortune 500 companies as of 2005, shall we? 1. Wal-Mart - United States (retail) 2. BP - United Kingdom (oil) 3. ExxonMobil - United States (oil) 4. Royal Dutch Shell - Netherlands/United Kingdom (oil) 5. General Motors - United States (automobiles) 6. DaimlerChrysler - Germany (automobiles) 7. Toyota Motor Corporation - Japan (automobiles) 8. Ford Motor Company - United States (automobiles) 9. General Electric - United States (conglomerate) 10. Total - France (oil) So 8 of the top 10 Fortune 500 companies (and this probably has changed slightly since) involve oil and automobiles, which go hand in hand. You probably can't grasp the power these 8 companies have. They pretty much control the world. The president of the most powerful country in the world will wage war to please them. Obviously the people in charge of these companies and our president and his regime are a bunch of self-satisfying dickwads who give no regard to the masses, but then who would in their position? You live out in your enormous mansion in the middle of nowhere and only do business and communicate with people of your status; you and I, our impact on them is minimal. By no means do I wish to disrupt any kind of movement to lower gas prices and reduce the power of these companies, but realistically I think it will take a **LOT** more than a very unorganized boycott of gasoline (which we are beyond dependent upon) to do this. Generations to come will inherit a planet in a most sickly state.
