it`s been 6 days now, and i`ve still got no appetite whatsoever. it`s weird, but it`s like my body has no desire for food whatsoever...don`t feel hungry, and food just doesn`t sound good. i`ve been trying to make myself eat, but i get full after a few bites. i`m also exhausted beyhond belief, which makes me wonder if maybe i`m still sick (had the cough/cold of death a couple of weeks ago!) i don`t know....any ideas?

im guessing your not referring to an eating disorder...

it could be many things. new medicine, stress, LACK of stress? sometimes when im really happy i just find myself not even caring about food at all. are you busy lately? maybe its subconsiously not on your 'to do' list. but i raelyl have no idea, 6 days is kind of a long time. are you working out lately? that can make you less hungry. and how about your diet lately? a lot of caffine, or eating foods with fiber make you
    (feel) more full.

see a doctor if your really concerned. :)

i do have a pretty extensive history with an eating disorder, but i really honestly don`t think this is related to it. i`m massively stressed and exhausted beyond belief, and normally i binge when under stress. i`ve never before lost my appetite. i`ve also not been working out nearly as much as i normally do...don`t have the energy to do much and i`ve been sick. i don`t know...i may end up going to the doctor later this week if it doesn`t improve....

I would find a really good reflexologist or aromatherapist and go have a session. This is non intrusive medicine and you may find that rubbing away the stress you are experiencing helps and quickly too. A good tharapist will look at you holistically an help you to sort out your issues and help you take responsibility for your health. By posting your message you are already doing this. Take the next step. Blessings

I would get checked for mono and ebv asap. I had the same symptoms as you early on and I had both and lost over 60 pounds...I was so gross looking because the smell of food would make me ill. ask your doctor for some promethazine to help with your appetite and making you sleep and lay down so you don't lose too much weight. if you become underweght and don't eat then your body has a hard time digesting food and you'll throw up and lose even more weight and it makes you sicked and sicker. let us know what the doc say.

getting checked for mono....actually that`s not a bad idea, as i`ve been exhausted beyond belief lately for no good reason. what exactly is ebv? hadn`t thought of that but as it`s been over two weeks since i`ve had a real appetite, i should probably think about heading off to the doctor sometime soon...

it's the virus that causes adult mono. most of us are exposed to it as kids and it resembles a cold, or in adolescnce it's presented as mono but when you get it as an adult it's pretty nasty because it's supossed to be a chilhood illness (like chicken pox).

Have them test you for EBV AND do an in depth mono test-not a mono spot test. My mono spot tests were coming back negative and because adult EBV is so rare they were thinking I had everything from HIV to cancer to intestinal blockage to hep C or B, to ecoli...to food poisining (anyone heard of food poising that lasts 2 months? lol)and if they would have caught it early on I could have been given some antivirals and avoided months in and out of the hospital...
good luck and be really assertitive with the tests you need, do your own research on the internet as to what your symptoms are and how you can get better. Mine was diagnosed as chronic EBV (a disease that is linked with sufferers of chronic fatigue syndrome) and now I am the healthiest person I know and am hardly ever tired. So be really patient with your self, eat all whole foods, no sugar, make sure you get enough food in your body and take some natural anti virals and lymph cleansers
    good luck and hugs :)

argh and don't let anyone tell you it's your ED I had bulimia for years so everyone was assuming that I had the worst relapse in the world (yeah I chose to pucke up my bile 20 times a night lol) I even signed away my rights and let my mom put me in an ED ward before they found out I had an honest illness that was making me puke all the time.

I always had an appetite though for certain foods so I knew it wasn't the ED when I didn't even want frozen yogurt or cookies.

Yeah it could definitely be the stress or any change in your mood lately.. You mention you're stressed out though so that could factor. I don't think your body has to react to stress the same way every time you have stress.

And yeah checking for mono and stuff is a good idea.

I actually am having the same problem the last few days. I don't know if its stress, or drug related, or maybe its even mono. Heh.. Well I hope we all get our appetites back.
