All arguments are pointless, none more or less so. If you can't answer my questions, just be honest and say so.

No they aren't. The point of some arguments is to persuade and educate.

In fact, I'd make the case that empty "pointless" arguments are created to occupy "time" and/or amuse us, which is the point of their existence.

I'm not sure what your questions are. Regarding Christ's death on the cross, I can only say that the usual explanation is, in my view, inadequate.
The thing is a deep mystery which can only be understood on a personal level, and has more than one significance. More than that I am not prepared to say here.

I disagree! God is all that truly matters, and as no argument determines whether or not God exists, no argument truly matters.

So I think what seems to matter and what truly matters are not always the same thing, as everyone has experienced to be true, I assume. Besides, the argument I created in this thread was intended to have a point, which was to shed light on a certain hypocrisy that exists.

My questions were only what they were. I'm not trying to pin anybody down, exactly. Everyone is free to believe as they like, as far as I'm concerned. What I enjoy is logic. If what someone else enjoys is believing in Jesus, keep on believing I say.

That is an attitude with which I have sympathy. I too like things to be logical. I have no particular preference to believe in Christ, but my experiences in life lead me to believe. That isn't to say I accept orthodox beliefs (clear enough from what I've said) but I believe that without some spiritual values, mankind is lost.

Also Pop, Christianity in the USA and Christianity in Europe are quite different things. I live in the UK where it isn't politicized in the way it is in America.
I just pursue my own path - and I'm happy to be able to do that.

    Blessings,

    BBB.

    Blessings to you as well.

I agree, without spiritual values mankind is lost. God is the upper limit of possibility. Without him, say goodbye to imagination.

It's good to know that the situation is different in the UK. I try to pursue my own path over here, but it's hard to be completely free of the hype.
