I don't think body shapes should ever be a trend, there should just be an assorted variety of people for every taste. People are brainwashed by what is 'in' but that is wrong because sometimes they're restricting themselves from finding out what they really like and enjoying it. But if I have to choose between fat or skinny being fashionable I'd go for fat anyday, it lets me eat whatever I want and not feel bad about it; it's so much easier to be fat! And besides, fat people are soft to touch, *very nice*, problem is that before you touch them you have to look at them and usually they're rejected in the initial visual phase. I have a nice round ass and I'm cool with it, I just hate having celulite, it looks awful and ruins that shiny smooth look...
okay I just realized somehting this thread is titled "The era of skinny girls is over. Phat asses rule." the era of 'Phat' is over and has been for a long time
I think that we don't see that skinny girls weren't as popular until the 60's with the arrival of models like twiggy. Consider for instance a sexual icon like Marilyn Monroe who was far more voluptuous than the walking sticks that the media try to convince us are more attractive. If you study art, you will see that most nudes done of women before the 20th century are not of thin or even in shape women. I think it's a disturbing devolopment when we find the body of a little girl more attractive than the body of a woman.
I think you have your sexes mixed up with the corset.... Traditionally corsets were worn by men to make them look slimmer. On the other hand, corsets were worn by woman to accentuate their figure and make there hips and breasts appear more rotund. I think a small oversight you might be having is the availability of food between the present and the past. In the past heavier people (I'm not talking about exaggerated girth and I'm not making this up) were associated with good health and wealth. A poor person couldn't afford to just go to the market and buy excess food. So if you saw a curvy figure on a woman, you knew that she was well taken care of.
what happens if you cant help but be twiggy skinny! she was never known for being anorexic was she? she had a figure that was never considered feminine to the public. i mean. i think whatever size you are. as long as you're healthy...you ah beautyful.
By you maybe. Everyone has their own personal preferences - some people like that little bit of extra meat everywhere! This whole thread is just making me laugh... Although, I have to say, I'm not seeing ay real trend in the US from my own standpoint. And one thing we all have to remember, is that ASSES don't get "fat" or "phat" or whatever you want to call them, on their own. One perfect example, coming from American culture: That 70s' Show. Mila Kunis, who is skinny skinny skinny (to the point where you can usually see all the bones in her chest plate) gets shown off in skimpy clothing, bikinis, etc. whenever they get a chance - whereas her costar Laura Prepon, a much more "womanly" figure, gets treated as if she's horribly frumpy, with sweaters and scarfs always tied around her waist. I think everyone should just be as healthy as they can be! Everyone has differet tastes, and no matter what you look like someone will find you attractive - just so long as you are comfortable and confident with who you are and what you look like. Personally, I think my own ass probably IS my best physical feature... and the rest of me is quite large as well. I'm still well proportioned - but who ever said a bit of a belly is horribly unattractive on all women? -Sleeping Venus of Malta found at the entrance to the the Hypogeum.
humblebee, that was a terrible example, Laura Prepon is a giant and why are you a guy in your pictures?
And I think it's a disturbing development when there are people who think it's a disturbing development when we find the body of a young girl more attractive than the body of a woman. There is nothing wrong with being attracted to women who are petite, and there is nothing wrong with being attracted to women who are amply well-developed. Besides, we can be beautiful at any stage in our lives, young or old.
Simple.... You stated that "women wore corsets to appear thinner"... and that wasn't the case. Men wore them to appear thinner. Do you see your mix up.
I agree with you that 'women' of all sizes could be attractive. But the females that the media are portraying as women, aren't women. They're 14, 15, 16, and 17 year old girls dolled up to look like women. And I'm sorry that pedophilia seems disturbing to me. I think there is a difference between appreciating someone beauty and being attracted to someones beauty. And I'm not talking about intellectual or any other form of nonphysical beauty. It's all semantics. With attraction, there's a sexual element. I can go to the mall and pass a truck load of 15 year old girls with skirts cut right below the crotch and I could care less about them. Because they're children.
yeah dood. i'm nineteen. a lady i must say. but my body is more of a fifteen year olds than of a nineteen. whatever that would look like. wait so are you saying guys my age can't be attracted to me because i look like i am. not legal
I think I kinda get where you're going with that...Here's how I see it... It's America that's warped, not the teens. Advertising portrays teenage girls sexually..Society views these same girls generally as underage. We make it taboo, but use it for advertising. The teens are fine, it's the adults that are fucked up, because our system is so ass backward. Here, here's a nice big, juicy smelling bowl of shiny candy. Mmmm, doesn't it loook scrumptious?... Don't you dare have any.
What I'm saying is that there should be more to sexual attraction than your appearance. When I see a younger woman, I see a younger mind with the younger body. I find it difficult to have a conversation with younger women. I find the differences in cognitive developmental stages a huge stumbling block. For instance, I'm into BSDM and a couple other fetishes. I find that all the younger people I've been with do it for the experience. An experience they can then brag about. I'm not trying to typecast, but after awhile when the same thing keeps on happening, you have wonder if it not true. On the other hand, I love being with older women. I find that they do whatever for the sheer pleasure of doing it. There is this sense of confidence and assertiveness, that younger women lack.
Haha, that is NOT pedophilia, mate. What's with this popular belief in America that finding teens attractive to also be a form of pedophilia, anyway?? I mean, COME ON!! 17?? 17 is indeed pretty much adult, it's society and its over-eager followers like yourself that constantly feed the young people bullshit, and plant in their heads that no one is able to....or ALLOWED to be intelligent, sexy, AND "underage" AT THE SAME TIME. You know what THAT does to their heads? It keeps them ignorant, keeps them from excelling further in life, makes them form totally incorrect views toward sex/sexuality, makes them feel incapable out in the world because they are constantly told they are "too young", and in turn fucks their mind up so they basically get sucked in and become the "society's loyal clones: the next generation". For your information, pedophilia is NOT the attraction to teens. To be a pedophile, one must be primarily, and/or exclusively(I myself believe in the latter) attracted to PREPUBESCENT children, in more than just the physical way, I might add. Teens are NOT prepubescent children. They are YOUNG ADULTS. As I said before, I believe we can all be beautiful and sexy at any age, young or old. To say that a certain age group is not worthy of being considered as attractive, to me, seems discriminatory. So you don't find those teens to be attractive. Good for you. Wow. You must be real proud. Or maybe you actually DO find them to be attractive, and just say you don't just so people won't think you're a "pedophile". Either way, I do not find your ageist comments to be agreeable. I'm sorry, mate. I kind of got off-topic. I apologize, guys.
