Only bugs...I can't bring myself to kill anything bigger than a horsefly. Dan's hit a couple of animals when we've been out, but both completely unavoidable situations. First was a racoon that decided he and his buddy should run in front of the car at night...his buddy got away unharmed. Second was a month or two ago, we were driving home from Amarillo, and a rabbit darted out. Fast little bugger, though, he got out, just bumping his head on the bottom of the car. Little dude musta had a headache from hell...
Traveling the backroads leaves you little options. Dont want to find one of them Oak trees the hard way.
Um do alot of people actually go out of thier way to run over things? I try to avoid any and all, just think it a waste and (this will sound strange) cant help but wonder if another animal was depending on it comming home.
When my Grandparents lived near the Appalachian Trail in Penn., the mountain rednecks would purposely run over animals. You could tell cause the tire tracks would be off the road where the animal was hit. We lost several cats this way.
I've killed countless bugs like that icky spider that woke me up the other night crawling on me *shudders*. I've also killed a pigeon and a squirrel, but that's only because they were slower than my car. I cried when I hit the pigeon and the squirrel.
I'm from down south so I've seen my fair share of redneck amusement parks on wheels. Its not that I hate them, I just don't like them.
