great band. anybody hear "who will cut our hair when we're gone?" it's one of the best albums I've ever heard. "tuff ghost" is killer. the unicorns: 2014 ep is just as good. but the unicorns are dead.
I actually never got around to getting that album, unfortunately. But I recently picked up Islands' (1/2 of the Unicorns) Return to the Sea. I think there are some really amazing songs on there, but I really can't stand the song "Don't call me Whitney, Bobby" and after a few listens I got generally tired of the unstoppable happiness gushing out of it. Definitely good overall though. "Rough Gem" and "Where There's a Will There's a Whalebone" are mindblowingly awesome. I'm still very interested in the Unicorns though.
I heard four tracks off it, very experimental, I should really listen to the whole album, it sounds like something I might like. I specifically do remember the tuff ghost track.
the unicorns: 2014 ep is just as good. but the unicorns are dead.[/QUOTE] Ummmm, no they're not. They broke up and decided they were heading in the same direction anyway--so the drummer and singer got back together and made a band called "Islands." The cd came out only a short time ago, so check them out, it's the Unicorns with a different name.
Can anybody see my posts? More specifically, the first response to this thread? Anybody? Is this thing on?
yeah, 'who will cut our hair..' is a truly great album, as is the 2014 ep. the unicorns make you feel good.
