exactly. I was the one who was inconvenienced. who rides bikes on sidewalks anyways?? people walk there.
i have ridden my bike on the sidewalk.. but i'm very careful of people walking .. coming out of building and never while drunk or at night while drunk just depends on how the street is.. crappy busy narrow streets.. i probably will ride on the sidewalk last time i crashed.. about 6 years ago i hit a garbage can.. but i was crying at the time and couldn't see where i was going too
I do, in some high-car-traffic areas or areas where there aren't any streets like the centre of my campus. Essentially if there isn't a parking lane and there's a lot of traffic on that road, and there's a sidewalk, I'm gonna be on the sidewalk. But I bike slower and watch for pedestrians, and it's not infront of stores either.
I've noticed that kids on bikes around here are rather retarded. I remember when I was a kid, I was taught to respect and fear cars cuz well, they'll run you over. Now kids will purposely ride in the middle of the road with a car right behind them, because they think they won't be run over. If I didn't care that I'd probably go to jail, I'd run one of them over just once so the rest of them will learn what I knew when I was a kid.
i've almost ran over a few cyclists with my car. they are an annoyance and shouldn't be allowed to share the road with us.
Really goddamn stupid. There is so much stupid now, it is classed in levels of stupidity. You're lucky he didn't try to file a report or sue you for it, some areas bikes have the right of way in situations like that. They do in my home town.
Bikes don't have the right of way over a pedestrian or on a sidewalk. They are supposed to follow traffic rules like a car. It's illegal to ride on a sidewalk in my town.
I can't stand people who ride bikes but refuse to follow the rules of the road.... Like going the wrong way down a one-way street... Barreling through red lights and stop signs.... Wobbling all over the place....(I know someone who was charged for drinking and driving on a bike) Riding on the sidewalk where I am trying to walk... Apparently rules are for others...
uh oh, daisy cant stand me, I love being able to ignore the rules of the road. I know I am putting myself at risk, and I guess I am self centered enough to not cosider what someone that runs me over will go through, emotionallly. hmmmm, I guess I should rethink my biking habits.....
Though I would like to love bicyclists here since I hate all the driving we do as a society, they are just so annoying since none of them feel like they have to follow any traffic laws at all. They all ride going the wrong way on one way streets, ride on the sidewalk, NEVER stop at a stop sign and I have been almost hit by bicycles soooo many more times than cars. I'm afraid to set foot outside my door for fear that it will be the day when a bicyclist finally kills me. They seriously go through crosswalks at stop signs going insanely fast and they just don't care whether some innocent pedestrian is trying to cross the street... they just mow them down.
