eh peeps! its Playoff Hockey time again! Who you all cherin for? For me its Oilers, always has been! WOOT! Anybody else into it?
I've been watching WAY TO MUCH hockey the past 3 weeks, just about one game a night, at least haha I was rootin for my team, the habs(short for les habitants, aka les montreal canadiens), in the first round, they were lookin really good too. They took thier first two games, then in game 3 Koivu(thier captain, and part of the dynamite Koivu/Higgins duo) got a highstick to his right eye and was out for good which seemed to kill the momentum. They weren't able to re-arrange the lines and get the chemestry right, guys like Kovalev and Higgins just didn't step up and carolina finally woke up and swept the next 4. Though I'd like to root for the remaining Canadian teams I gotta say I really like the way Buffalo is playin, amazing transition game, fun to watch, so I wouldn't mind seein them take out Ottawa and progress, they'd be great to watch in the cup round. In the west I'm rootin for Edmonton, they're a real hardworkin team, with no superstars so to speak, facing a team with a very similar syle of play, so this one is just going to come down to who wants it more. My prediction Buffalo and Anaheim in the cup, but whatever happens it looks like we have another couple of weeks of really exciting hockey regardless. Peace, and keep watchin, cause it's a LOOOOOONG Summer
WTF is baseball, men in tights, swinging wood and tappin eachothers asses? or are you more the football type? either way, shut your mouth cowboy, let us hosers be
hate the player, not the steroid induced game ...or something like that I don't know, baseball ain't to bad with a cold beer on a lazy sunday afternoon, but otherwise, meh, might as well watch golf
i have ottawa picked for a comeback, although comebacks from 3-0 are pretty rare. maybe emery will get hot... or at least leass shitty. i'm cheering for edmonton in their series. they have a lot of grit and a lot of heart (although detroit was wildly overestimated because of their shitty division). i also like san hose on the other hand, and they are much more skilled team.
if edmonton can win, all 4 of my picks will have been correct... I love the playoffs, great game tonight by the oilers, thank god detroit, dallas, calgary, and colorado are out....hopefully ottawa is next
I will only cheer for the Leafs and seeing that they didnt even make it, Im not paying attention to playoffs
Let's go Sabres! I'm really hoping for a Sabres-Oilers final. Rolosson and Miller have both been teriffic in goal, and have saved (no pun intended) their respective team's asses quite a few times in these playoffs. I live in Buffalo and my wife and I are VERY happy we get CBC. Their coverage of hockey (and sports in general) is so much better than the American networks. There aren't any silly graphics, cutesy announcers, and none of the ass-clown hustling that the American networks (esp. FOX and ESPN) use. It's just nice to watch sports where the network let's the game pretty much speak for itself, and doesn't assume that the only people watching are 12-15 year-old boys. Anyway, Carolina and Anaheim shouldn't even have teams, for Christ's sake. The local papers in each town have to run stories explaining hockey to people. What rubbish.
im' sorry to all the people who wanted to see the Oilers lose to the Red Wings and San Jose, they're goin on to the conference finals against Anaheim
quote: Anyway, Carolina and Anaheim shouldn't even have teams, for Christ's sake. The local papers in each town have to run stories explaining hockey to people. What rubbish. thats pretty sad, in fact, just for that I hope the sabres lose. People always say that in traditional hockey markets, ,but come on, most people understand hockey, its not rocket science. I like the sabres, but i think the other 3 teams are more exciting i want the oilers, but i actually don't mind any of the teams. Lets get over the bullshit geography, and look at the actual players oh actually now that I remember, you guys are actually the lucky ones that probably shouldn't have a team, considering your city is a withering rust bucket
The really sad thing is that Carolina is having trouble selling out their arena even with their team a round away from the Stanley Cup. They can't even scare up enough fair weather fans for a team that won its division during the season and made it through the first 2 rounds of the playoffs. Meanwhile, the Sabres home games (all 3 of them) sold out in a matter of hours. So, tell me again who's lucky to have a team.
I'd disagree about how complicated hockey is. To really be able to enjoy it, you need to understand the strategy.
