My hair does not want to knot so well

    I never comb my hair. I have not combed it in a forever. over 6 months. BUt no knoting up
    . SUre it gets tangled but nothing really happens after t hat. I suppose its over 6 inches these days. European hair. I will post pics later. BUt I am concerned

    If by chance you are not washing it much then that might have to do with it. Greasy hair does not knot very well if at all. Also, conditioners and shampoos that leave residues will not get you anywhere. I'm sure you already knew this. But, if that's not the problem you might want to try backcombing some hair to get it started. Some people get a perm done before this process, but I haven't heard of any in-depth stories to reccomend that.

    Make sure you are keeping your dreads clean. That is most important.

    sometimes for naturals (way to go!) in fine hair, it just takes longer than you think it might...but it will definitly happen. no worries.

    what shampoo do you use? If not already, try using a natural soap/shampoo like Dr. Bronner's. Salt water also helps to tangle hair.

    Dr. Bronner's liquid shampoo did wonders for my dreads in just one washing. Previously I was using the dreadhead hq shampoo and there's no comparison. Bronner's holds the hair together better, helps tighten better and makes them look much healthier. Good luck.

    Oh and also make sure and wash your hair. Dr. Bronners is good. :p

    yeah I couldn't think of anything else but washing either! at 6 months my hair already looked somewhat like dreads.. post pics!
