Actually that reminds me of a good idea. I have seen good shitters dug wilth post hole diggers. They make a shitter that is easy to cover, for just a camp. I don't really know what i think about the camp to camp shitter but i have seen it work.

 

First off, I haven't responded to the personal attacks of my mental capacity and intelligence. Just trying to get you to be responsible for your words. I truly feel like I'm dealing with a couple of men that have a hard time being responsible for their words...

Either way, this was not how I wanted to encourage anyone to be a better Rainbow by acknowledging the lack of consciousness regarding accessibility for people that happen to be differently abled.

Thus far, all I've gotten is a bunch of jive and turkey. Entertaining yes, but effective no.

Dear Rastspatch~ you yourself have this Welcomehome 2006 posting site on yahoo to facilitate your dream..a dream to be proud of.

I'm thinking that this camp *Welcome Home* will have a shitter. This shitter is your creation...make it accessible. That's all. Clear and to the point....please make your shitter w/c accessible, no steps, hand rails...easy as pie. Shitter+ accessible.

ok, i've been goin to gatherings for many years, more years in a chair then not..& i can tell ya that accessibility as far as gettin where ya need to go isnt the problem, ive never really known folks to feel like they hadta stay up near the top , but maybe thats cause once im in i'm in till i leave & really dont spend much time round bus villiage
however finding a decent place to takea shit at most gatherings isa crapshoot (excuse the pun)..usualy the closest thing to accessibal is the jesus camps (outta morality prissiness shame or whatever, but not really outta thought to accessibility) & even thise can be quite dificult..my pioint is its not a hard thing to just put some thought into a decent shitter..for everyone

oh, just a comment to succulent, aboput thiswholeadapt thing..protest? at a gathering? c'mon, they show up expecting resistance ..& arewelcomed with open arms &ok they show up with 350 ppl, they'll find 800 people willing to help em get in..they come to get arressted & go home? yearight..lol arressted by who..for what? & trust me they wont be goin home so quick

alright, lets see..instead of arguing & gettin on eachothers nerves, maybe we can discuss solutions? come up with a wish list? a reasonable guideline for "reasonable" accessibility..we are talking about the woods..high upin the mountains..when ya go to the woods, ypu gotta expect there to be trees right? rocks & streams & hills & cliffs ..so u gotta come expecting to hafta find a way to get where ya wanna go..& ya gotta be prepared to lend someonea handwhen they need it
at the same time tho u gotta do what u can to make things easier & better for everyone there
i understand toms ..travelers thinking, that this issue needs alot more attention, ..& it suredoes..but i dont think anythings gonna besolved by arguing about it online
if anuything maybe u should just post some instructions on how to make thingsa bit more freindly for folks, & a wishlist & hope 10-15 magical enchanted shitters show up...& then bring it to councel & try to get a concensus that all future gatheringsdothe same

theres no reason to protest..& all the reason in the world to cooperate & coexist

oh almost forgot..about the shuttle in to main circke for handicamp folks..thats been in practice at many gatherings & has always worlked out well, & i bet ya the guy who got all worked up about that would be the 1st to get all worked up when he cant get a ride too


well im not sure i i saidgoo much..too little..or madeany sence at all, but all i know is yaall wasted a ton of time getting sidetracked & arguing when simple direct communication woulda worked so much easier..heres how to bne assessible..please try to beas much as possible..its all a learning proccess..& every step we take just makes the wholeexperience better for everyone
