Not which is better - I realize they're not all that comparable.

But which do you prefer to play? Would you rather noodle on an electric of fingerpick an acoustic? Just that kind of thing. Which is your style?

    EDIT: Yes, I'm talking guitars.

I like to play bluegrass and folk on acoustic ocassoinally for fun but i like to jam with drummers and bassists on my electric...it's just more fun to me.

It's electric for me. I need that distortion. Aside from that, I really dislike how I have to each over the bridge to play an acoustic, but that may be because I started off on an electric.

    I love my acoustic.

The round, warm sound just makes my heart feel all tingly, and my exterior limbs relax and chill. Plus, its portable, and sounds damn good in around a campfire.

I got to strum a SWEET 12 string the other day.

Which was my LUCKY day indeed!
I got to see and touch an Ocean City Choppers made bike,
but strum that Ovation 12 string that was perfectly tuned
on the rack! Plus, I bought that Case I posted about. And brought home $30 Change!
    I'm Accousitic ALL the way!

I usually end up recording with my accoustic. I like playing it for certain things. But I usually write stuff and practice with my electric, which is also tuned a whole step down. :p
I think I like them about evenly. The accoustic always sounds good, but if I want a special sound, I can mess with it on the electric guitar. They're just different timbres. And like someone else said, the accousitc is nice because it's portable.

Well I started off with an accoustic before I went electric. There is nothing capable of producing the exact tone that the accoustic gets and in some of my songs in the future, I will probably have an accoustic in one.

I'm electric all the way. But thats pretty much because I don't listen to acoustic music.

I find acoustics waaay more gratifying to play. Especially when I just feel like screwing around. Just pick it up, maaaaybe pick up a pick and then go for it.

Whereas with an electric, yes, you could pick it up and just go, but you would have to plug it in and all that...

But electrics are absolutley awesome to listen to.

But acoustic for me to play...

    I'm torn on the issue.

acoustic. sounds so purdy, looks gorgeous and I like the feel of the solid wood pressed against me. plus they're lighter and i feel better when I learn a song on acoustic, because I know that electrics are (in my opinion) much easier to play.

infact if i wanna learn any song I'll learn it on my acoustic first, so its really easy for me when i get onto electric.

I beg to differ about electrics being easier.

I mean, I've been playing almost ten years now and I STILL suck at electric, but give me an acoustic and I'll play circles around people. I think that soloing, and the sound in general is harder then an acoustic.

Not to mention that on an electric - if you make a mistake, everyone can hear it. I just think acoustic blends better
