good way to find someone online

I'm looking for someone I used to know a while back, she may be dead, not sure. I've tried google search, my space search...just wondered if anyone else has any good methods?

on google,did you try the name on an image search? - sometimes works
I dont know what country your in but in uk we have this thing called friends reunited - which you can search school listings and workplaces and colleges etc - dunno if theres something similar outside of uk..

 

I have found Google to be an exceptional tool for finding people. The problem is asking the right question. Did you Google just the name ? Did you try the name in enclosed in quotes, ie "Jane Doe " ? Try adding the last known city and state they lived in, Jane Doe Billings Montana. Try adding a hobby they enjoyed, Jane Doe knitting. Try adding an organization they belonged to, Jane Doe Rotary Club. If none of those things work, try Googling close friends and relatives, you might be able to find someone who know how to contact them. If you have webspace of your own, post thier name on it saying you are looking for them. People Google thier own names all the time, they might find you, or someone else who knows how to contact them might find you.
