Eggnog

What is the "nog" in Eggnog?

 

i'm not really scared of eggnog.

i do think it is kind of gross though.

 

I've never liked it either. I don't even know how long ago I tried it. It is all yellow and thick and comes in a milk carton.

 

are there other types of nog? pork nog? spam nog?

 

you know i think the nog in eggnog just stands for the alcohol you put in it
i like eggnog

 

apparently nog is a strong english ale.

i'll stick with whiskey.

 

you're supposed to put rum in it...

and you can make your own. it doesn't have to come from a milk carton. Martha Stewart can teach you how.

 

eggnog is eggs, cream, sugar and rum.. the stuff thats in the milk cartons sold in the dairy case at the grocery store usually doesnt have the rum in it lol... the nog comes from grog the colonial american term for rum ... so they called it "egg-and-grog" and say that 10 times fast when your drunk and you get eggnog LOL.... umm yea... haha Ive had to explain taht alot at christmas up here LOL

Recently someone said "battered women" I thought of women covered in pancake batter isnstead of women being beat by men

 

This gets me thinking about literteral meanings of expressions

like some guy with a base ball bat "beating around a bush"

yeah.... haha
