I just discovered a really cool concept and wanted to share it!

The female menstrual cycle can be a very inconvenient thing (as I'm sure we all know). But yesterday I discovered a product called "Instead", which is a sort of disposable cup that catches fluid. It fits nicely (although getting it through the vaginal sphincter might be sort of tricky) and is pretty user-friendly (I got it right the first try) ... it seems pretty safe, considering it does not leak or cause TSS like tampons do.

The best part is ... it can allow for very nice and aesthetic sex, even during "that time of month"!

Now, I could be wrong (I have yet to try it), but I can see no reasons why it would not. As it keeps blood from reaching the air, it cuts right down on or even eliminates odor -- which is very good for everyone involved. Also, as it seems pretty leakproof, it eliminates mess. It fits high up in the vaginal canal, right under the cervix, and thus seems quite unobtrusive. Unless one has a small or short vagina, the Instead would not appear to get in the way ... and unless the other partner has quite a long reach, the little cup could even go undetected! They are more convenient than diaphragms (which I have heard can serve the same purpose) but are not intended as contraception, so wrap it up too if you don't want to procreate!

Insteads are available at Walgreens, Rite Aid, CVS ... (the full list is available online) ... I got a pack of 14 for $4.99. As I have usually been forced to wear both pads AND tampons EVERY DAY of my period, this new method is actually quite the economical advantage ... not to mention the money I save on laundry or even new clothing!

I am pretty sold on the idea of Insteads ... visit www.softcup.com for more information.

This could make life much more convenient for me AND my lover ... I hope it can improve your life too!

    Peace and love!

    - K

PS: I have also heard that the DivaCup is a good option -- it is reusable for many cycles (even years) ... but is not sexable. Perhaps one could alternate between using it on "single days" and the Insteads on "hinky days" ...

Wow! Personal feminine freedom! I think I like that idea!

I use the Keeper, which is similar to the diva cup. Tho it’s not ‘sexable’, however, since it contains the fluids inside it allows for clean 4play. I can even sit on my partner’s face with no fear of bleeding on him. This is cool since I’m one of those women that get particularly horny during that time of month, something about all that fluid and menstrual blood is slippery ;), so it allows me to have my fun.
It’s reusable so u can take it out just b4 penetration.
