my grandpa has an old cb radio in his garage that ive been eyeing for a couple years when i go to his house this year im going to ask him if i can have it. he told me before it needs an antanna. where can i get an antanna for a cb radio at?
well the way we used to play was 1 guy hides and rest try to find him by signal strengh "once park you cant move" you must watch your signal strengh meter and figure it out. but gas was cheap then .
We called that game a Rabbit Hunt. I was a master of it back in the day. I could hide for hours and was great at finidng people. I loved it! My new radio, it was just released for sale in the US. Puts out just shy of 100 watts. My old radio that I will keep with me as a backup. I have had it for over 10 years. It puts out 48watts. Both have built in echo, roger beeps, variable power, and save my butt.
Nice radio . looks like an export model with tons of extra frequency . right above 27.405 "40" there used be a lot sideband action when condtions are right for skip. normally in the day hours but even at night. any amp size is a great help .
Yeah have to be careful with the new trucks, alot of amps over like 300 will mess with the electronics on em now. I do pretty good being able to hear. Sure miss the old days when lots of people had them. Like ya said they are all cell phone and shit. I mean I have a cell phone but the radio entertains me so much more even with some of the crap on it. Guess its like this forum at times, lol
I think runing about 300 watts would be quite safe . but remember this, in stereo system RMS is the real watts power not the fake rating "PEAK" all the bobo stereo makers use. the same with RF "radio frequency amps" the real watts are messure on a BIRD METER NOT A PEAK METER most all cb watt meters are peak meter. a BIRD METER IS NOT CHEAP!. you take a 300 watt amp and put it on a bird meter you find out your lucky if you are really putting out 150 watts.
