I've hitchhiked all around the province of New Brunswick if that counts. Going to partys, hanging with friends, no car or ride. I gotta do what I gotta do to get home eh?
iv been hitching the country for quite some time now. (currently at a library in humbolt) and it is still possible, though more difficult these days it seems. i wouldnt have it any other way though, the road is the best school iv come across. its harder to find the children of the light out there these days, teh streets are mostly cluttered with teh gutter punks and drunk old timers, but their still beautiful in their own way. there are still good heads out there as well, and like attracts like, so you'll meet those you need to. my only advice is to stay true to yourself....dont let the hard days make you jaded and hard. and if ever your jouney becomes more about survival than growth, its time to move on and try somthing else. its an amazing/liberating thing, blowing with teh wind with no money or possesions. (once you sever those physical chains youll understand true freedom) everything you need is taken care of and things unfold in magical ways as long as your heart is open. tread lightly and with a purpose...namaste.
Not truly by myslef i have to admit. But about ayear ago me and few friends lafet home and walked and occasionally gto rides from nj to ohio because we wanted to go to a show. That was crazy fun
thats cause at 20 your're not so young and cute... They always were..."children of the light" were rich kids slumming it for the summer. Humbolt? i'll be up to see ya,let's say, maybe,,,beginning of September or so...
As if...I'm 24 and still young and cute...but cute can be a doubledged sword to be sure when you are travelling...
i could have made a lot of money back then...naa.It's just easier to get rides when you're still young and innocent looking.
im not sure how to really interpret your post...if your reffering to myself, iv been on the road for the better part of 3 years and i have 22 cents in my pocket at the moment...neither rich nor on summer vacation. when i speak of children of the light im merely reffering to the concious positive heads out there who dont let the negetivity that exists out there breed negetivity in themselfs.
wow 3 years. When you get tired you'll go home. These concious positive heads are ever present, coming and going.Another 7 years on the road and you might start to realize that.Don't take this as a down, just a observation from many past years traveling. It's all good...
