50+ Hippy musician/artist looking to leave the rat-race in Portland behind. Any ideas regarding communities or co-ops in the Oregon/Western Washington area?

I believe there is a co-housing project in the making in Corvallis.
But if you could create one, that would be great!I'm hoping to move OR to attend OSU and really dont' want to dorm it.

This winter we plan on establishing an eco-House but I really doubt we could handle 50 + people.....

Do you mean you can't handle 50 people or people over the age of 50?

Well, I do believe Pete means he's 50+ years old...:p Hey, when you find something let me know...I've been in Portland my whole 17 years on this earth, and I'm pretty burnt out already by the whole rat-race and crowds and crap. :p

    Eccofarmer,
I did checkout the IC website. I got the feeling that the co-housing listings for the Portland area were pretty yuppie. The Eugene/Corvallis listings looked better. If there is anyone out there seriously interested in looking into shared housing in the Portland area let me know.
