^^There's no need for a convincing excuse. The kid was already be in trouble over the stuff falling out of his pocket, there was absolutely no reason to involve people that considered him a friend. He could have said they were somebody else's, and if he told he'd get his ass kicked. Or just said "I'm not telling." The fact of the matter is, when people agree to do things of an illegal nature together, it should be understood not to cooperate with authority figures in the prosecution of one's co-conspiritors.

 

yea REMEMBER, if you rat you friends out..you pretty much have said so-long to hanging out with them EVER again.. because most likely your parents will let you go out and trust you again- but they will never ever trust your friends simply bacause they dont have to.

Most highschool and middleschoolers will rat out their friends and/or sources under the pressure. End of Story. There is no denying. Maybe you are the 1% that doesn't but don't put that faith in others or you will get FUCKED.

there is more pressure to not rat out yer friends then there is to rat them out... when i was 15 i didnt rat my buds out cause i knew id get ganged up on, and never have friends again cause id have no trust... if i didnt rat them out, then i would get grounded a little longer...

A load of me friends have been busted. One of them, out of around 10, turned someone in. It was so pathetic, seeing as though my school doesn't care, and the police give you a crappy fine round here, if that. Lets just say he got the shit kicked outta him. What goes around comes around. You narc.... and karma is out to get ya.

 

16 years old - Accused of stealing at school. Didn't even steal anything just got caught with the stolen merchandise. They knew I didn't take it and offered to not suspend me if I ratted. Took my 5 days with pride.

17 years old - My girlfriend who lived with me and I were caught with pot. I took all claim to all of the weed and bringing in the house so she wouldn't get sent back to the group home.

17 years old - Charged with grand theft and conspiracy. Two others with me. Cops watched me walk out the door right behind them, and I still denied knowing them.

Not all kids are rats. You're judgemental know it all ass has probably never been caught and would squeel louder than anybody you've already called out. Live like a pussy and you'll probably die like one. Oh, and your grammar and punctuation are not all that great either, pal.

As far as that kid saying he ratted because his parents were heartbroken: Telling on his friends isn't going to ease their mind. He's a very foolish, naive child, and hopefully one day he understands the way the world works.

 

That suckss balls. I got ratted out a while ago, but i guess it was my fault. My friend decided to bring a first timer to my house and smoke. she took only about one or two hits and sat there for a while, then started panicking and said she wanted to go home. I was already baked so i was likee okk. She ended up going to the mall, calling her dad while crying and they called the ambulance and she told them everything. Then she got questioned by the police and they asked where she did it, and she told him my name and where i lived. It sucked. but i learned to never ever smoke newbies, and i havnt ever since. = )

Anyway, I'm willing to believe that 95% of the kids at my school would narc. And I'm just hoping, if I am ever faced with the situation (which, hopefully I am not faced with it) that I will take the blame myself. I'm pretty sure I would too, I've gotten in trouble over other shit and never blamed it on anyone. (Except the one time that I got caught WITH another kid and he was gonna get caught for something else...so he TOLD me to just let him take the whole fall haha...I guess I got lucky)

 

All of my pothead friends have pretty bad records so...narcing on them is pretty much out of the question for me

 

There is a difference between a "convincing excuse" and not ratting anyone out. Sure, I probably couldn't come up with a good explanation for having six hits of E in my pocket, but I can tell you I'm not going to drag anyone else into the situation. I got busted for possession of alochol at school about a week ago. It wasn't mine (it wasn't even in my posession, it was in the top shelf of the locker I was standing at) and I hadn't been drinking it, but I sat there and told everyone that it was mine and made myself look like an alcoholic. Why get someone else in trouble if you're already screwed?
Maybe I'm not a spectacular liar, but I can lie damn well enough to keep my friends out of trouble. Granted, most of the people I've taken a fall for wouldn't return the favor, but perhaps that reflects the character of the person, not necessarily his or her age.

 

-shakes head- not ALL sixteen year olds are going to rat out their friends when faced with this situation ( as has been said again and again ) but it happens. its not right but it happens. this is why some ppl shudnt do drugs .. you take a risk each time. The way i see it is if u cant stand the heat dont get in the goddamn kitchen. if you are in possession (sp?) of 6 hits of E with your parents right near you, you need to be in control of the situation, they shouldnt just "drop" , you better be holding them with your freaking life. but if u fuck up well... YOU fucked up, jose and pepito didnt drop the e now did they? so why get them in trouble. own up to your mistake, take the blame, deal with the punishment and laugh at yourself later. the thing is if you always pass the blame on someone else your never going to be trustworthy, nor responsible, nor a very good person bcuz you'll just cop out when trouble arises. and that not good ,mmkay?
