I was watching the news and they were talkin about how some 17 yr old guy got 10 years in prison for a 15 yr old girl suckin his dick...

that's fuckin retarded

a 45 year old can legally fuck an 18 year old (it happens).

But somebody two years younger, that's fucked up..

And they were saying that he was a great moral guy who was an inspiration to the black community

They were having sex by IM? That isn't having sex! The government needs to stay out of everybody's business, exept when people are deliberately and seriously hurting each other. Otherwise, the government becomes our mother and father, our god and our wise leader. In doing so, it does much, much more harm than good.

I am so tempted to totally agree with you. I'm just wary of it. Many young girls are so messed up. They confuse love and sex, & badly just want attention. Parents should play more of a role in parenting, yet sadly, many don't.

My answer remains the same. I don't like to see children not growing up before they do that kind of thing, don't get me wrong. But we live in a country where damn near every human activity is controlled by the government. There's just no end to it. I know a woman whose mother was MARRIED when she was eleven, and had her first child at 12 (not in the US, btw). I'm not personally in favor of that, but by all appearances, she and the rest of the family are just plain normal people. If that had happened in the US, everybody would have been in prison and their lives ruined. Freedom is freedom. The only alternative is to let the government regulate everything that people do in the bedroom and put in their bodies. The government is causing a lot more misery by doing that than if they just left people alone and let them do what they want to do. And about the IM thing-my friend that works in a law office told me that his boss has loads of clients that have been entrapped by people working for the government that are representing themselves as being a certain age, cybering with them, and then they're arrested. Just for engaging in a form of speech. Screw the government. If it was shut down completely, I wouldn't cry one tear.

Well, that's one of the areas where you have to draw the line-and a line has to be drawn somewhere. However, in the original incident that this thread was about, a 17 year old having sex with his 15 year old girlfriend, the government would have you believe that this was basically a case of pedophilia, which it isn't. The government should be intervening in real cases where adults are preying on children, and actually do things to protect them, not arresting teenagers for experimenting with sex.
