I tend to disagree. On the people part that is.

 

The people elect the government, they are responsible for what their government does on their behalf.

Unless America isn't a democratic society. In a democratic society you cannot separate the government from the people because the people make the government. But, it is more tricky than that.. political parties call elections now, but people should also be able to.

 

....so which government are YOU responsible for? which country? and BIRD what great country do you hail from?

None, because a pure democracy does not exist. In a pure democracy my vote will not go to waste.

I wouldn't say ALL Americans are responsible for the government. I would say the upper classes are more responsible than the lower classes.

Dear bird and Inquiring-Mind, im rethinking this recently. u 2 r right. its the people carrying all the evils. the government is just their tool.
