It seems to me that women are much more open minded towards themselves being bi than men. Most of the women I see on these forums and alot I meet in real life are bisexual. I myself am bi. But it's much more rare to meet a bisexual guy. Most guys are either gay or straight (I know I'm generalizing here, but just work with me). It seems to me that women are a lot more open with their sexuality and being comfortable with who they are and what they want.
From a straight guy's standpoint, it makes complete sense. I mean, how can you not be attracted to women? The curves, sweet smells, fluttering eyelashes, full lips, etc... Now when I think of men -hairy, sweaty, scruffy beard, prone to beer bellies-shit, I honestly don't know what women see in men. I would definitely be a lesbian if I were a woman.
HAHAHA! This is exactly it..... There are just alot more attractive women then there are men. Don't get me wrong, there are rare occasions when I see a hot guy and all I can think about is jumping his bones...(ahhhh like that cop I fucked the other weekend;-) hehe) but for every one hot guy I see, I see 25 hot chicks.
I think I'm coming to terms with being bisexual myself, though I doubt I'd really do anything sexual with a girl (but if the chance arose, I might change my mind) or have any serious relationship with a girl, but I am attracted to some girls. I'm not sure if you'd consider that bisexual or just bicurious. Even so, I don't think it really matters. There's no need for senseless labels, hehe.
I think its a society issue. If two girls kiss or make out and they do it for fun, no one cares enough to label them as lesbians. but if two guys did the same thing, then they'd lose their straight card so to speak.
I also think it has to do with how men are progammed at a younger age to be masculine. Young girls are allowed to dress in girls and boys clothes. Little boys would be ridiculed for wearing a dress/showing any feminine traits. A little girl in boys clothes is considered a cute tomboy.
What AREN'T females more open-minded about? just kidding, kinda Well, not really... Thinking about all the people I know, I think almost every single straight guy is at least a bit uncomfortable with the concept of bi/homosexuality, but I can't think of any females who are upset by it. God, what Smelly Socks said is so true, haha. In high school I decided to wear skirts to school ocassionally (I thought if girls are allowed to wear guys' clothing then damnit I'll wear a skirt). Fortunately my classmates were used to my bizarre dressing habits and no one was shocked.
This is social programming. In today's society, girl-on-girl is considered sexy and somehow more acceptable, and like someone has mentioned above, boys would inmediately deemed as homosexual if they were to experiment with the same sex, whereas girls can play the bi card and get away with it easily (most of the time) and now bisexuality is so fashionable and cool, everyone jumps on the bi vanwagon. At the same time, girls are more open about exploring and having same sex encounters, not only because they can, but also because girls are so pretty too. My first kiss was with my best girlfriend in 1992... Not so fashionable and cool back then!
Thank you, Ramona! I too find females attractive, but doubt I would ever have sex with another woman ... so what does that make me? MYSELF! Labels are pointless. I agree with everyone that the bisexual stigma for men is all societal -- based on the way children are raised. Seriously, if you had a traditional upbringing, feel free to blame almost any of your troubles on your childhood! LOL! And PS: Lemongait, I think you would look pretty in a skirt.
OMG r u serious.. i totally love bi men.. I am very excepting of them.. god i would pay to see two men together with me! oh wait that would make them prositutes seriously though.. its hot.. two men.. yummm
