I've been using this DreadheadHQ shampoo, b/c it's all I've had around since the last time I had dreads, but I'm looking to try something else. Preferably something that helps the hair knot faster in addition to keeping the dreadies nice and healthy. Ok, I'll leave this to you experts [IMG]...

I use Dr. Bronner's Tea Tree oil bar soap, but my boyfriend uses the liquid kind and I'm thinking of switching to that because it seems like it cleans his hair and makes his hair smell so much nicer than mine using the bar soap.

I think I'm gonna pick up the liquid Dr. Bronner's. I've heard good things about that one before, so it seems like a logical choice. Now you have to dilute that stuff right, or doesn't it really matter?

Personally, I don't dilute it. I doubt it makes that much difference, except diluting probably saves a few bucks... ;) I like the liquid because it'll really soak into the dreads, and clean them out. I could ever seem to get my HAIR clean with bar soap - just the scalp. Just don't rush things, make sure you rinse it well (I've found it usually takes a really long time to rinse my dreads out) And dry it out as quickly as you can!!!

Hmm, yeah drying is something I'm still figuring out I guess. The first couple times I washed them I dried them w/ a hairdrier on the lowest setting. But, most recently i just let them air dry, b/c I heard heat was bad. And afterwards they looked more healthy than ever. Took over an hour tho to air dry. Is there anything wrong with drying this way?

there won't be any fungus unless you put weird things in your hair. dreads just have that wet dog smell if you wash them.

My bf dilutes the liquid Dr. Bronner's and his head smells wonderful...not like wet dog.
