hey, i live in Md and i am actually planting Friday morning (may 5). I have talked to a few people from around this region and they said that they have planted like 3 weeks ago, and that i have waited sort of long. That being said, have i by any way hurt the possibility of getting the largest possible yeild. My growing season would be from now (may 5) until ... the last frost is probably in mid october or a little later. Is that still sufficient time to get the fullest potential out of my babies? . by waiting these extra 2 weeks, have i hurt my chances? thanks alot, i really appreciate it.
Well, I'm no expert, but my friends planted last year around this time, and when it came time to harvest, they had a few plants but no buds. Again, I don't know the chemistry of it all
Either your friend didn't harvest at the right time, or s/he grew males, or s/he didn't grow pot at all. The best time to plant is in the spring, right after the last danger of frost has passed. If you don't know when that is in your area, call a local nursery and ask them when it's safe to plant tomato's.
Thanks, no they must have planted male plants. Because it was obviously a pot plant for sure. I sound like a tard here, but how can you tell between the difference of a male and a female?
