Well I haven't posted anything for a couple of days just cuz of girl issues and work, but I just saw something that I knew I had to post. There may be a way to smoke marijuana legally all over the nation now. Here is the website that talks about it. http://www.shoutwire.com/viewstory/11266/Marijuana_Legally_Legal
sorry my bad, but it basically says that in a recent unanymous decision by the supreme court that freedom of religion is more important than drug laws, so there are some religions that you can join online. Therefore if you get caught with a little bit of marijuana you can prove that you are part of that religion and that the supreme court basically overturned the federal law in that circumstance. I'm thinking this is just one step closer, and it basically already does make it legal to smoke in a sense.
Ill tell you what. Ill go ahead and join one of these religions once I see that this argument holds up in an actual court room.
yeh i wanna see this case, i dont see how youre meant to prove the cannabis was for religious reasons and not for just after you go to your 'ceremonial' visit to 7-11 and wanna get stonneneeddd
if it where true, and you got caught with weed, to use religion as a defense you'd have to prove that you are in fact a practicing member of the "religion" and that you where using the marijuana during religious practices. id say the bigest perecident in the freedom of religion defence is with the ethiopian zion coptic church.

Now ya see... the guy didnt mension that an actual case was won. That puts a whole new spin on things..
hey guess what, this is essentially just the exact same thing that happened when they "legalized" peyote usage for the NAC on grounds of religious freedom. this case has nothing to do with marijuana, it was an ayahuasca case regarding legal troubles experienced by a particular sect in brazil. it simply means that SERIOUS organized religions POTENTIALLY have the right to claim an illegal drug as a sacrament. there needs to be an actual teaching, an actual faithful congregation....nobody's going to give a stoner's club with the motto "its from god" the right to smoke pot as a matter of constitutional freedom. hell, even the NAC has constant legal clashes over peyote. none of the psychedelic churches of decades gone by have really survived without going underground except for the NAC, and thats because they were a much much more traditional religion..... and as i've pointed out, they still run into legal troubles. the fact of the matter is, while they MAY have exemption some of the time (if the courts decide to side with them) these drugs are STILL ILLEGAL..... an individual person with no religious teaching, no church or congregation or teacher, no set faith or doctrine, who happens to get caught smoking pot is not going to be able to just say "it's religious" and have the cop let him go. this supreme court ruling most likely is not going to change anything for most of us. it's just going to mean that there are two different religious groups recognized by the USA as being legally allowed to consume their psychedelic sacraments instead of just one such group. i very seriously doubt that it's going to pave the way for a psychedelic rennaisance or a whole gaggle of new drug cults..... and marijuana is probably among the least likely the be permitted, if for nothing other than political reasons, if further organizations DO try to put the law to the test. just like the supreme court case the allowed the NAC to consume peyote hasn't made any headway for the legalization of cannabis, i predict the new case allowing this particular sect to consume ayahuasca will not at all help or hinder the legalization of marijuana....
If anyone believes they can smoke pot legally because of their religion, I've got some beachfront property in New Orleans you might be interested in.
