:H How do you really know when your in or love or not. i mean everyday you hear about so and so breaking up after dating for years. i mean is it possible for someone to just wake up one day and not love you anymore? i need advise to give to one of my firends who just got outta a bad relationship becase the guy she was with for almost 2 years just decided he didnt love her anymore. I personally think it has a lot to do with him being stressed out form college and everything...which scares me a lot becasue my boyfriend is leaving for college this summer and i dont knwo how to bring it up to him about how worried i am..is that bad?? idk....

Well, in my experience, there are many different types of love. I really honestly don't think you can just fall out of love...I think if it's really love, you love them forever. But people and circumstances change and sometimes you just can't handle the changes. That doesn't necessarily mean that the love has died, but it wasn't strong enough to handle it. I'm not sure my description helps, but your friend's boyfriend is going through a stressful time right now. Maybe he wants to make sure that he's not distracted from schoolwork next fall or maybe he's hoping to encourage her to move on and not spend every moment of her life waiting for him to call. There are many reasons a guy would break up with a girl before he left for school. Not everyone can handle a long-distance relationship and maybe he didn't know how to break up with her without breaking her heart. It may sound strange, but some guys have the idea that if they end the relationship with something that seems to be extremely final, the girl will be mad at them and move on. My ex admitted to me after we'd been apart for months that he did everything so harshly in hopes that I would move on.

As far as things go with your boyfriend, sit him down one day and tell him of your concerns. You have every right to know his intentions after the summer is over. When I was a junior in high school, I dated a guy who was a senior and planned on going to school in Boston. He eventually told me that he didn't have intentions of staying together after the summer and while it was a bit hurtful to know the relationship was going to end in September, we still had a blast all summer. No matter what the results may be, if he wants to continue a relationship past the summer, if he doesn't, treasure your time with him. Trust me, it won't be a waste of time and you definitely won't regret it.
