you could get a spore syringe, they are only like 10 bux. The kits suck, you dont learn anything. Startin from a syringe is thye way to go imo.

and as soon as youve got fresh mushrooms growin youve got a pretty vast collection of spores...when the cap has opened and is flat, you put it on a sheet of paper. The spores will fall from the gills and make a print on the paper, that has the shape of gills. A spore print can make ya like 3-4 syringes.

I bought mine on the internet. Pretty easy to find.

hmm..i might redirect you to shroomery.org

but basically you need these spores you inject in a substrate, vermiculite and brown rice flour is what i use. The spores evolve into mycelium, bright white kind of roots that feed from the rice flour and colonizes you whole substrate in a jar.

So i read up on the way your sappouse to do it on shroomery, for beginners. I was just wondering, do you leave the stuff in the jar or do you take out the stuff? How much water does this stuff need? Can you grow this stuff anywhere right? Also what is vermiculite ?

No vendor will ship spores to California because they are illegal there.

the mix colonizes in the jar, takes about 2 -3 weeks...when its all white , you get it out and you can grow mushrooms right off the cake or mix it with more vermiculite and make a casing , more yield ++

you cant grow it anywhere for good result you need a very clean place. In nature you cannot imagine the quantity of spores that never end up as a patch of mushrooms

vermiculite is made from a mineral called ^mica^ or so ive read briefly a few secs ago.

Method i used first time , 100% came out uncontamed. http://www.fungifun.org/English/Pftek

Aight, I went to the local head shop, and I asked what kind they were (she just said the nicknames for all of them, i already forgot the names...), also the price for these spores are 30 bucks each... Is that a resonable price? Whats the best way to dry these mushrooms? If you us a combation of "drying salts", and the fan method would it dry it faster?

well is it a grow kit or just a syringe?

30 is pricey always saw them on the net for like 10 bucks

the best way to dry them is a food dehydrator...40$ at walmart

Untell I get a dehydrater, should i just eat the mushrooms fresh?
Also if i was to put more rice and vermulate into the pot. So i get a greater yeild do i break the cake up into smaller peices, and mix it in with the fresh rice and vermulate. Or do i just take the whole cake and put fresh rice etc. around it?
And thank you for answering all of these questions :D

No. The system of federalism employed in america dictates that state laws can be more strict than federal laws, but not the other way around.

For example: blood-alchohol content - the federal laws (until recently) were at 1.0, but some states had more strict (0.8) laws. This is a better correlation with the issue at hand, because CA state law prohibits the acquisition of spores(more strict), even though the federal laws dont(less strict).
