I saw black hurricane storm clouds and lightning was striking the Statue of Liberty. I fear another terrorist attack may be in the immediate future (6 - 9 months, perhaps).
Imho: Whether the terrorist attack will happen or not, I am almost sure, your dream is not about it, but about more personal issue. Two things come to mind: either some bustle is threatening your freedom and you should be ready to defend it, or you are paying too much attention just to the trappings of freedom. In any case, a hurricane certainly has more liberty than a statue This can reveal many interesting things, if you follow your personal associations. Usually, every event, every symbol, everything in our dreams are parts of ourselves, and even if a dream is prophetic, which is seldom, it has strong private tunes. The best way is to extract from the dream something useful. And of course, to sit the next nine months just fearing the terrorists is of no use
ah yes deep phylosophical interpretation here. the hurricane represents american anti-french sentiment. it was france, if you will recall, that built mz liberty and sent her over to us. =^^= .../\...
86'd, Kudos, you got it right. It doesn't mean that there will be a terrorist attack in NYC. Since I am from NYC, the Statues of Liberty signifies me; the depression will all be mine and the lightning signifies a lot of unexpected, surprising and 'charging' changes coming to my life. Since my mind has been depressed for the past two months, "What else is new?; same ol', same ol'." All I can do is witness the depression and try not to get involved with it. It'll get probably get worse before it gets better. Oh, well, I know what's coming up, I just don't know exactly what. (Well, I do in one sense - my solar return promises a lot of changes, maybe even going into my own business, finding a 'hottie,' a new job, etc.)
No, it isn’t French, the situation is more serious. Hurricane, or Huracan, or Jurakan (“one legged”) is a Mayan deity. He (or She – it isn’t clear) personalizes both creative and destructive forces of nature. I am expecting the invasion of NYC by ancient Mayans from the underworld. They will take their revenge for the colonization of the Americas.
So I think the hurricane symbolizes the necessity for new refreshing powers from the unconscious. Maybe it will entail some changes in your life, and that isn’t bad.
vengence accomplishes little. re-indiginization might just accomplish something interesting though. at least the rediscouvery of local foods, and the natural wonders of each and every place, or that are burried beneath every place that has been made unnatural. nature shall indeed rise again, every place it has been dessicrated. not that this requires humans or tecnology to end. not at all. but when we are forced to stop using combustion for anything other then heating and cooking this will be a good thing. transportation and other essential tecnologies will get along just fine with wind, solar, hydro and the like. however much this might require their forms to be altered from what we take for granted now. =^^= .../\...
That’s, of course, beautiful, but, to be serious, the most fascinating thing about the Maya is that they left their cities for unknown reason just before the coming of the whites – actually, rejected civilization and technology by doing so. Maybe this was a good point. Modern Mayans in Guatemala are quite peaceful and have a very inventive and authentic approach to Christianity – they are the only true Christians I have ever seen, although I can be easily mistaken here judging other Christians. They would live better if the whites didn’t bother them. Ancient Mayans sacrificed people to their gods, but we sacrifice even more people to the god of the highway, not to mention permanent useless wars. This is an outright offtopic, sorry
