Ya'll didn't see my posts last week, we were all down with a weird influenza. Awful with fevers, and terrible coughing ect. Took Moon, Lennon and Sage to the Doc yesterday. Moon has Pneumonia, Sage has a sinus infection and Lennon just has post nasal drip. Sunshine is also coughing up a lung, but she is too old for the Ped, and we have to find her yet an other doctor.

I've never had a kid with Pneumonia before. Coughed so hard last night she puked. Poor baby. The doc wrote so many damn prescriptions we didn't get any good cough syrup. Had to use her migraine codine pills instead. "Don't supress the cough." The doc says. Yeah, when NO ONE has slept in 9 days, and 4 kids are coughing up a lung? Damn.

Thanks. Sunshine had a Planned Parenthood Appointment for girl stuff yesterday, so I thought "It's a doctor, she can listen to her lungs and prescibe if neccesary." The doctor listened to her lungs, said she had bronchitis and said she couldn't prescibe unless Sunshine had her insurance card. WTF? She can give her birth control, but a damn antibiotic prescription needs an insurance card? We were going to take it to the pharmacy and PAY for the meds, why didn't they just give her the prescription?

I'm pissed, I have a doctor's appointment today (my neurologist it isn't for this) and now I have to go to an OTHER doctor with Sunshine even though the PP doctor KNEW she needed meds. She said the doctor said, "Just get some antibiotics." Uh, as far as I know you need a prescription for that.

Around here, it's a horrible stomach flu/diarrhea thing....Making it incredibly difficult to make me excited about "labor poops" or anything else like that. I'm already exhausted and don't think I could get much more out of myself....sheesh...

*hugs Maggie* Hope you feel better...

I hope your Tummy feels better, Freek.

We're still sick. I'm feeling somewhat better, Lennon is better, but still coughing, and Sage's fever is gone, but she is still coughing (CODIENE MORE CODIENE) but Moon's temperature was up to 102.7 last night. I am afraid they will admit her into the hospital if she doesn't start improving. The only time I have ever had a child admitted to the hospital, EVER, was when Sunshine had a vaccine reaction in 1987.

Sunshine did a lot of fluids, and hit her inhaler frequently yesterday, and she seems somewhat better (most bronchitis is viral, but there is NO way to tell if a bronchitis is viral or bacterial) so we hate to use antibiotics if she doesn't need them. This child needs to QUIT smoking, (she's 20) as that is only aggravating the problem. I finally got so pissed last night. My dh started pising and moaning that no one had done the dishes and "you were all home all day" JESUS help me not kill him! I read him the riot act about smoking in the house.......and all of a sudden HE'S the victim. He's not even sick! That pisses me off more than anything, we're all dying here, he's as healthy as a horse, smoking his fucking cancer sticks and drinking his beer, and complaining about the fucking dishes. "But, I went to work all day." So, if I had a 40 hr a week job, that would give me licence to engage in behiviors which make everyone in the house sick, not have to do any clean up in the house, and that would be OK, as per his interpertation, people with "jobs" can do whatever they want? Idiot. Guess whose at the TOP of my shit list today?

I haven't been out of the house in two weeks, except to go to doctors and pharmacies. I am losing my mind.

Oh Maggie, I am SO sorry! (((((((((hugs!!!))))))))) Wish you lived near me, I'd be over there in a heartbeat to help out a bit. You need a break!

Wish there was more that I could do, but I'll be praying that you & your family heal soon.
    love,
    mom

Thank you, honey. The kids are feeling a bit better.....so you know what that means, they are following me around, asking for stuff and fighting with each other. I just heard, "SAGE, quit touching me. Mommy, tell her to sit down, she has boogery hands!"

    OMG. Thanks, mama.

Usually around this time of year, I get terribly sick. It might be allergies, but I doubt it. I get an ear infection, swallen glands and a terrible sore throat. It's not strep throat, they tested me for that. It's just some bizarre virus. I remember one time I got it, my throat hurt so bad I kept my poor mom up all night. I kept crying like a little kid and she kept giving me Advil. The gel cap kind, because they're easier to swallow. The box says you should take no more than 8 within a 24 hour period. I probably took twice that much. I really needed something stronger, but the docter I went to didn't seem to care what I had as long as I didn't have strep throat.

Luckily, I haven't gotten it again this year.

wow, maggie, you guys sure get sick a lot

have you thought about supporting your immune systems thru nutritional approaches? just an idea. we dont get sick very often in my house, and when we do, we arent sick for long and usually end up with a much milder version of whatever's going around.

    ~be well~
