    hi everyone :D

    Mother natures pain

Standing in the midst of destruction,

The crying pain of Mother nature

    Screaming, louder, louder,

    Echoing through us,

    Emptiness like a dark cave,

    Cavernous hearts

Filled only by sorrow at the destruction around us.

    Aching sadness

The thud of lonely trees falling,

Sacrificed to the god of greed.

    Hatred,

    Licking flames,

    Burning through our souls.

    What have we wrought?

    Roaring frustration

Screaming to be heard in a soundproof room

    Why won’t they listen?

Are they blind, or do they not want to see?.

Humans to money, like moths to flames.

Flames of power lust licking at our compassion,

    Burning our hearts away,

All consuming, rendering us powerless against its raging purge.

    Consumerism,
    Powerful wave,

Wearing away at our connection to the earth.

    Relentlessly pounding.

    Water on stone.

    Anger burning

    When will it end?

    This pain.

    This needless waste of life.

    When will we ever learn?

    Hope draining away,

    Like water through the earth,

    Yet from this, potential,

    New seeds to be nourished,

The dark depths of hopelessness a deep well to draw from,

    Inspiration

    Small flame of hope,

    Illuminates the cave,

    Lightens the darkness,

    Breathing new life

New strength is sparked into being,

    Anger into passion,

    Life bursts through the earth,

    Rising gloriously,

    Like the golden sun

Maybe we will survive the night,

Maybe the sunshine of the new morning will brighten our souls

Flood our cavernous hearts with light

Maybe one day Mother nature will sing again.

    thanks for reading this

    peace and love

That was great moonflower. How old are you? You have the heart of a 16 year old hippy. I am 13 years old and its these kinds of poems we need in BOOKS! Your poem was great.
