New setup

Got my ventilation working, and 580 watts in a 2x4 closet grow! Im not out to impress anyone with outrageous yields. I just like to grow my own pot because i find it to be better than anything i can find. Especially at the price.


Here is my little revised closet grow, with a whole new batch of plants in there.

I got my own strain in there i call "christmas tree" because of the shape and smell is like christmas! And the other ones are humbolt, which have a definite indica leaf pheno to them. Like the closeup pic is the bolt.

I got a 430 eye hortilux, and a 150 watt shp spotlight. Total of 580 watts for a 2x4 closet. I Think i'll be needing to rig up some co2 when i hit 12/12. I'll probly use dry ice, to bring my temps down a bit more though.

Ive only been running the current modifications for a few days now, Im really impressed with the growth rate im now getting. I think i'll switch em over to 12/12 next weekend.

Hey thanks for the compliments, but I pretty much owe it all to meangreen, geck, pist, medhydro and oregonmed. This site and george cervantes marijuana growing indoor site and book.
The support ive gotten online has been instrumental in my closet endeavor.Id be mounting lights to the ceiling without this place and george's.

Humboldt is a great strain, very hardy

The christmas tree is a strain of unknown origin. I have had it 7 years or so.
(The Strain) I was originally given one seed and i femminized that first plant.

But it looks and even smells a bit like a christmas tree.This version could possibly be a hybrid with the desired mother's pheno. I wont be able to tell until these buds finish in a few weeks. The final product always reveals all.

If it's a hybrid i already have a backcross- if it is not hybrid i have some more hybrid seeds.If this is confusing, do not feel bad i confuse myself all the time. That's why i HAD to start writing it all down.Another beautiful thing about med status- I can label my seeds without paranoia of THE LAW.

Im outta here early today- gotta go find a J.O.B.

Monkeys and cocatoos, and i coulda swore i saw a koala hiding out, but they only eat eucalyptus leaves, so probly not. But yeah the jungle rages on.
The pics on this thread have only been from this month, page one was at setup/install of ventillation along with the new light from mean. It blows me away to see the first pics , compared to what's going on in there now.Not a friggin spidermite in the house either! Whoo hoo!

Them humbolts nug up fast, real fast. The flowering info on "yumbolt" says 60 days to the finish. Even though Im sure those 225 dollar yumbolt seeds are inferior to the strain I have, I'll bet the flowering times are the same. I say inferior because the real humbolt is adapted to california for decades, anything grown in the netherlands will be compromised in it's genetic ablility to adapt to california climates.

So im figuring the first week of october for the hummers, and the end of october for the christmas trees.About the same time they would finish outdoors, but now im going to be able to finish some every couple months or so.

I AM VERY curious to see your aeroponic methods in action, not to prove any points or anything like that, just to compare our results for reference.
If you are getting results much better than I am still, I will definetly need a 10 foot ceiling before I'll even attempt setting up aeroponics.

Im contemplating a method- using 6-9 month old stunted Banzai mothers( which can be quite potent) to cut clones from, for an aero system. If i can do a control and use one of the clones for the new mommy, i'll bud the stunted mom along with the clones to see if the potency varies.
If not, I'll definetly be on to something. Banzai plants are hella potent- it should carry into the clones. If i can rampant growth a clone from this kinda mommy, and get the same smoke> it will kick ass ,and there will be a gang of it.

You see what I mean guys- the only problem with banzai plants is low yield- if you can cut clones from banzai and get higher yield with banzai potency it will be a worthwhile accomplishment.

It has to work- If you enhance the internal chemistry of the mother plants it will cary into the cuttings. It just has to work. I have a thai plant reverting now that is about 4" tall and 5 months old. Also another in very sparse sun that is a foot tall which might enable somewhat of a control. Banzai clone vs. not so banzai clone.
And because i have a 2x2 vegging/cloning area. i have to make it work.L.O.L. Speaking of which> the mutant skunk, and the nl5Xkush will be the next mommys up to bat. The next wave will be mostly my hashplantxcolumbianxcitrusindica(mexican citrus) with a couple hummers and christmas trees mixed in. Then a wave of mutants and nlxkush will follow.

Thanks to you sending that kickass light, And the accident causing us to go for broke on the ventillation> the closet seems to be producing hella well now. I have a high temp range still, which causes a little bit of stretching, but im thinking of rigging a dry ice container by the intake vent, for when it gets over 85. Maybe ill just stick a block inside the chamber to bring down the temps.
In another 6 weeks summer will be over, and i'll be able to run cooler temps easier.Maybe sooner, they are talking about an early winter- possibly el-nino conditions. Probly a real good thing i learned to do this indoor.

 

With fall/winter approaching a cool-fresh air intake with lighting schedule beginning in the early evening thru morning you will be able to lower them temps even more giving you ample time to make cooling changes before next spring.Cool,glad the light helped,but its more your determination thru hard times that allowed you to prevail and make forward progress.Peace bro

 

Next spring Im going to get an A.C. unit for the back bedroom,that should put temps down to where they should be! Today was overcast and it stayed 85 or below. This wave is the christmas tree and humbolt, they both like it hot. I don't really think i'll need to make any changes for awhile. Once it gets really cold i'll be bringing the heat back inside the house, but that's a few months off.
