What is everybodys opinion on using a hammok ofr a bed. I am getting a new room once we finish our addition to the house, and i wanted to get a hommok to sleep on. My mom is not really crazy about the idea. Could you help me come up with a good argument foe it, and also if anybody has any good sites bout them it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and peace
www.hangouts.com Go for the Mexican or South American ones, not the American ones with the bars. If hung with enough tension, a hammock can be quite comfortable. Some folks get back problens because of positions they use to sleep in hammocks. It's quite comforatble on Backpack Trail. I'd rather a hammock than a bed in most of Latin America.
yea i dont know if i could deal with sleeping on a hammock for a long period of time, but to each his own.
well, all I gonna say is I hope you like sleeping on your back, cause seems it would get very uncomfortable to someone who slept on their stomach,(me)
you are cradled, so you don't shift position nearly as much. Even if it isn't your every night bed, a hammock is a great chill space and space for guests.
I hang up my hammock and sleep in it every once in a while. It is actually a 2 person hammock a friend got for me while I Brasil, where they use them eevry night as beds in their huts. It is pretty comfortable, but it takes some getting used to for me to sleep on it. I don't know what it does to/for your back, but the Brasilians use it and they might be fine. (I have a lot of friends who go to Brasil, one who is living there now, so I usually spell it Brasil, which is how they spell it which is because it is how they spell it in Brasil, but I know it is spelled Brazil here... Just force of habit.)
my friend had a hammock as a bed for a while. it was very comfortable, and nice to fall asleep in when it was swinging, but she put blankets between her and the hammock so she didn't get imprints on her face or anything. i don't really think it saves much space though, you'll have to devote most of your room (unless it's huge) to space so it doesn't hit anything if it swings. i'd prefer a normal bed if you can have one.
we have a hammock in a spare room in the basement I LOVE falling asleep in it... but I prefer hammocks outside so you can feel the breeze and hear the birdies and such.... but I think Id be lost without my bed....but if your really set on having one you could always say "atleast I cant hide anything under my bed" aha... good luck!
We sell hammocks on our site, but they are "american" ones with the bars. But we do sell a few hanging chairs. www.paisleydays.com got to the "outdoor living" section to get to them.
not if you do it right. Hammocks as a bed are cool, unless of course you're one of those people (like me) that move a lot in your sleep... and the other downfall is that it's not very flat or a hard enough surface for back support, so you notice after a few days that you have a very achy back....
