Better living through Science. Part 2: Better Science = Better High.

First of all, this is a continuation upon a previous thread. I desised to make it a new thread cause there was so much new stuff, that I figured a new thread was justified.

New techniques have been developed.

After looking at many bongs, I have determied that while having a quality bong with alot of upgrades and accessories is a nice thing, its not a necessity.

RooR bongs are nice, but over priced. If you can afford it, blaze one, if not, other bongs will certainly be acceptable.
I learned about a new bong the other day. I had no idea they even existed.
They are called Hurricane bongs.

If you are a cheapo and would like to set up a crazy awsome vaporizer setup like mine, there is hope, alot of careful shopping and planning has lead to me come up with a cheaper way to get all the proper equipment.

First of all, the most expensive thing, the vaporizer. Well. thats gunna have to stay atleast kinda expensive. I still highly recomend the VaporBro's, But Vaporizers (with whips) from wherever will probably work. I think there are even some on eBay for $100'ish (I donno about the quality, I have never used one, I am still sticking behind the vaporbros).

Anyway, as far as the other parts go.
All the vaporizers will have atleast one whip come up with it. I found a glass on glass attachment for just $10 at a place called "The Sandbox" near Long Beach (I live in LA. If you live nearby, find this place and go in, its a cool shop).
So, if your willing to use a glass on glass style attachment as a mouthpiece once in a while (when your not using your bong), you can get a $10 vape-to-bong attachment, and just use that with your only whip. That will save a few bucks.

Also, if you already dont have a nice bong, go get a RooR Diffuser (look at this one for referance http://www.everyonedoesit.co.uk/online_headshop/Roor_Diffuser.cfm?iProductID=1593 , but dont buy it from there, they are too expensive, and you can find them localy cheaper) and find a grommit that will work over that, and will slide into your current bong.
My main bong broke (which was very sad, but it is fixable, so it will eventualy be fixed) so I have had to use my old bong (I bought it when I was 16 in high-school. Im 23 now, ive had this bong for a while).
It was just a tiny little glass bong, about 8" just a straight tube.
I paid about $25 for it back in the day, and im sure you can find a nice bong like that for about the same now a days.

So. to sum it up

If you spend $150 (vaporizer) + $25 (for a decent small glass bong, or find something you already have to use it with) + $10 (for a vaporizer to bong attachment) + $15 (for a RooR Diffuser + Grommit to upgrade the small bong)
you can have a badass setup like this.
For basicly only $200.

Its still an investment, but 100% worth every penny.

If you are planning on setting up a system like this, there is another thing which will make your smoking even better.
Everyone should go invest in a Kief Box.
Without going into too much detail.
Basicly, a kief box takes your normal herb, and lets you make it into Kief, which is just a collection of THC crystals.
Generaly making kief is the first step in the traditional ways of making Hash. (I think thats right, but not 100% sure, if im wrong, please correct me)
Anyway, its just a fine powdery dust.
Just to do the math for some people.
normal shwaggy herb is about 5% (or less) THC. Really friggen awsome herb is about 20% THC (sometimes, but rarely, even higher)
But Kief, is about 90-100% THC.
So you can generaly say that 1 gram of Kief is the equivilent of 10 grams of good herb.

This information is nothing revolutionary, but put into the right context.

Vaporizers generaly cannot be used to smoke hash, because vaporizers generaly need to heat up all the material with hot air to vaporize it. hash, which normaly comes in little blocks cant be smoked that well with a vaporizer (I havent been able to smoke normal hash very well outa my vaporizer, if you have some trick or technique for me, lemme know)
Kief tho, which is basicly unbaked/unpressed hash, is very easy to smoke out of a vaporizer.

heres the technique to smoking kief out of a vaporizer.

First, take some herb (fresh or already vaporized, doesnt matter much) and fill the bottom of the bowl with it so it completely covers the screen.
Take a bit of Kief (remember, weight for weight kief is 10 times more powerful than good weed) and put a little on top of the herb you just put in.
Dont pack the kief down much tho, you want to keep it as loose as possible.
Then take 4 or 5 good hits off your bowl, and after each hit, stir the kief around just a little (try not to mix it up with your herb, just mix only the kief)
After your first 4 or 5 hits, mix everything up together and vaporize it all till its cashed.

Using Kief through a vaporizer gives you all the benifits of using a vaporizer: Strong clean hits, hardly any smoke, good taste; and then also all the benifits of smoking hash: Amazing ammount of THC, can get really fucked up from not alot of smoking material; all together in one nice sexy little package.


Another amazing advantage to Kief is that its alot easier to cook with. (even easier than hash, since you dont have to break it up at all, and the kief can mix in easily and evenly without hardly any effort)

On 4/20 I made up a new recipie, the Kiefadilla.

Ingredients:
1 Flour Tortilla
1 Small piece of butter
A bunch of finely grated Cheddar Cheese
As much kief as you wanna eat.

Step 1: Put a pan on the oven, turn up the heat all the way, and put the butter in the pan, there should be enough butter to atleast cover the entire bottom of the pan.
Step 2: Once the pan is hot, and the butter is all melted put the Tortilla on the pan, and then put cheese on one half of the tortilla (leave the other side bare for now)
Step 3: Wait untill the cheese is bubbly and melted and then sprinkle your kief into the melted cheese. With a spatula (or anything else) Mix the kief into the cheese so the kief is completely covered with the gooey goodness.
Step 4: After you have completely mixed in the Kief, fold the tortilla in half, and keep cooking it for a few minutes, then flip it.
Step 5: After you think your Kiefadilla is done (it should be kinda crispy on the outside) put it on a plate, give it a minute or two to cool, then eat and enjoy.

Mixing up the kief in there and then cooking it for a few minutes should get it hot enough to "activate" the THC so it binds with the fat from the cheese.
If you eat this on an empty stomatch, it will be more potent.
It takes anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour for the high from this to kick in, it will be a very nice "Body high". The high from eating weed lasts alot longer than smoking it, so be careful and dont have too much.
The kief will give it a very mild (but very nice) Marijuana flavor. My cousin ate Salsa with his, but I just had mine plain (it was delish!)

On 4/20 I had maybe 2 good sized Kief bowls through my vaporizer, and 2 kiefadillas (each kiefadilla had about half a bowls worth of kief.

Wow, I was so beyond messed up. It was probably the highest I had ever been in my whole life. I was seriously tripping and it was wonderful.

Even if you arnt Vaporizing, its worth the few bucks to get a Kief box so you can process your own stuff.
Kief can be placed on top of normal herb and smoked in the traditional way as well. If your a smoker, this is a very nice way to do this too.


Since I am in the search of the best possible experience ever. If you have any more tips and tricks, or whatever, please share them. Because the more refined this system gets, the better it gets.

now THERES a bong worth investing in. i could be overrated but it would definately be coolest bong to add to a collection. that and miami musician's bong hehe if you remember him

 

I can vouch for this, last night i tryed out my vapobrothers vap for the first time and attached it (more like jimmy rigged it) to my homemade bong. 4 hours later I was still destroyed (off something like .2 of a gram), and with no lung pains, or pasties. This is probably the best way to toke, better than eating in my opinion.

It was a hefty investment, but way worth it in my opinion. I hope I can upgrade to a GoG bong setup soon, but probably not for a while.

so i need to get a bong-vape attachement, and a glass diffuser bowl?

what is a grommit?

i'm curious because this setup sounds kickass, and i alraedy have the most expensive parts so this wouldn't even be too much of an investment.

Yeah, go to your local Headshop and buy a Bong-Vape attachment.
You dont need a diffuser, but it helps alot.

Basicly. if you have a Glass on Glass bong (which is common on alot of higher end bongs, and is found on most namebrand glass bongs) you want to get the Glass on Glass Adaptor.

If you dont have Glass on Glass, your bong uses a Stem, so get the adaptor that has a stem.

If you do have a glass on glass set up, you should also invest in a diffuser, which is basicly like a stem for the bong, that goes between the actual bong itself, and the bowl (the diffuser slides into where the bowl goes, and then the bowl goes into the diffuser)

As a last resort, you could completely clean out your bong and take it to a head-shop and show them and have them help you. Tthis is, of course, if you are of legal smoking age, and Bongs*ahem* Water-Pipes are legal in your area.

i went to a couple headshops and could not find the bong-vape attachment.

i bought a diffuser today though, gonna see if it fits my bong.

is that link where i'd get the bong-vape attachment?
sorry if you thought you were clear i'm just a little confused nbecause i didn't see up close how it even works.

 

hmmm... I got my bong-vape attachment at a headshop. Not everyone of thouse places has them tho. Generealy the more higher end ones do. If they got alot of vaporizer stuff (or even if they have alot of RooR stuff) they might have it.

If you cant find it any head shops, or cant find it online, Id sugjest going to a headshop that sells Vapor Brothers stuff, and have them order you one.

 

Sounds complicated as hell.

I mean, sounds tight and everything, but the hassle seems like it wouldn't be worth it. Plus i usually don't smoke in places where water is available (unless we specifically bring it). I'd be happy with a pipe.

 

well not everyone has to worry about it, so the complications do seem like it might be worth it...

my diffuser stem piece ended up being too large!
i'm gonna have to go back tomorrow and get it a bit smaller.
