This show is nothing but crap....endorses torture and further pollutes the American psyche with more propaganda.
    Fuck Faux...thats my 2 cents

I don't know. 24 is mad addictive...I watch it every week

But it does seem like absolute propaganda from the Bush administration to make us believe there are actual terrorist threats at large in our country and that everything he's doing (i.e. wiretapping) is completely okay.

A republican girl in my government class who is completely in support of everything that Bush does and says is forever using examples from this show to prove points. It makes me want to shoot myself in the head.

I do agree agree about ther propoganda part.. It seems quite a lot like it's trying to convince people that stuff actually going on is justified.. But either way I still like the show.

Its funny how you all dismiss the show as being propaganda and what not but still find the show addictive.....TV is powerful. Nothing against any of you but I dont know how it keeps you enthralled....I cant force myself to even begin to be interested when stuff like this is on TV.

Half the fun of watching 24 for me is picking out the propaganda and looking at how they relate everything to current events while being subtle about it. The other half of the reason I watch is because Jack Bauer is the perfect terrorist fighting machine and always pulls off some rediculous shit to stay alive, kill the terrorists, and save a small child or two.

It is sad though that while I (and everyone else thus far in this thread) agree that its all propaganda, there's a shit load of people watching it who dont even see it...

Yeah, it's propoganda is fairly subtle.. Most people probably get wrapped up in it and don't even notice what's going on.

I <3 24. Severely addicted to it. However, I think this season is kinda sticking it to Bush, not supporting him. I dunno. Just my opinion on it.

I have to admit to liking this show as well. It's a really silly but entertaining. But to say this show is some sort of propaganda tool of the Bush administration is way of the mark and tells me that you haven't actually watched it (or at least haven't payed attention). President Logan in season five is shown as incompetent, corrupt weak and easily controlled by those around him. Throughout several seasons secret clandestine groups are shown working within the government to manipulate events - trying to create war for corporate profit

The previous president, Palmer, is depicted as a very righteous man and he is clearly everything that Bush is not - he is thoughtful, doesn't act unilaterally or employ military force unless absolutely necessary. He also happens to be black and is a democrat

I really don't think the show has any political agenda, but it is pretty obvious to me that the writers of the show don't like the Bush administration.
