    anyone else on here apply this technique?
    it's a technique used to get very pure crystals from any sort of extraction or synthesis, and is even employed by pharm companies [​IMG]

    ive done that in a chem lab before, its been a while but im sure with the right equipment i could easily do it again.

    absolutely, it's not a tough technique to master; it's immensely useful for synthesis.

    i think we used it for extracting and idenifying pigments from spinach extract. i really blew it in that class though, I will never take a lab with a clueless girlfriend who learned no lab skills in her previous chem classes again.

    sorry for venting. i took a look at my lab book and that was the experiment but our results were unsatisfactory, percent yields something like 10% of what should be expected. At least we got the 4 pigments we were going aiming for.
