I loved these guys, they had a nice batch of songs and gave a great show. I didnt care if they played reggae or punk, they did both quite well! Good stuff.
I have Rock for Light, which is an awesome album. And I also have Rise, which is a horrible album, mainly because the singer is horrible in that album and it's more metal influenced. They're not a bad band, but like most punk music, it gets old fast.
i got a cd of theirs and i dont like it. but i havnt listened to them in like a year. il put in in the cd player and see what i think of it now
You must get their first album, the one with banned in dc, pay to cum, leaving babylon, i love i jah, etc. its raw as shit and the gear-switching from reggae to punk and back again is mindblowing.
All Bad Brains stuff is great but my favourite is that SST label record I against I. I need a copy of Rise on vinyl if you have a spare. About that question above Old BB vs New BB ..is there a New Bad Brains.. the last idea heard of them was that Rise lp on Maverik and they went on tour and the singer H.R. spun out and caused the tour and record deal to destruct. This was a few years ago for sure. I heard that a couple of them had a band called "Comrades Of War..true or false??? bye
dude bad brains kickass... house of suffering is an awsom song... too bad they didnt release more though. they used to be regea or something if i remember correctly, but then the singer got into punk and changed the band with it... you can still pick up the trace of regea in their music though. great stuff.
