It was free the 2 first times I have no income. the Woman at the front desk was like well the rules changed in January. Im like well the first time i even came to the clinic it was February and she just looked at me and said well the rules changed im like YEAH IN JANUARY then why the fuck am I being charged now but wasn't in February or may .. February and May comes AFTER JANUARY check the calendar !!!!!!!!! So now when my pills run out im screwed what am i to do eh? i cant afford the pills the shot or any thing they wont help me any more so am i just supposed to have a kid? i cant afford the damn pills. I thought there was some damn help out there thats BS all BS. My fiance and i are trying to be responsable we cant afford a kid im 20m and he is 21 and were trying to start a life of our own and a kid right now would put our getting good jobs and becoming stable getting a place of our on all on hold what are we to do! I guess it doesnt matter that we cant afford the kid. Ohy wait i guess we cant just have a kid and get old welfare that will help out!! If you are going to continue doing the biologicaly adult thing of having sex, I recomend:

    1) Do the fiscally adult thing and get a job.

    2) Do the socialy adult thing and register and vote.

Does anyone know a link for natural birth control information.

Yeah he has a job i don't and i cant get one cause he don't have a fixed schedule 1 day he could open the next he could close then he could be 2nd shift. he doesn't know his week schedule until Friday for the next week and they wont give him steady work well its steady he does pretty good hours a week but full time to them is 30 weeks so he wont get any thing over that. When i said job i mean a real job you know one where he could half way afford a kid as in he needs to go back to college and a kid would screw that dream.

and i cant do the natural and plan around my period and what not cause Depo-Provera fucked my period up i was on a period for 6 strait months.

and i think its stupid of bush he is the one that wont help fund Planned Parenthood cause he beleives that giving birthcontrol to teens and all tell sthem that they are allowed to have sex . so lets just do away with birth control and handing out condoms that will fix the problem WOOHOO no it wont fix the problem all it will do is screw every one there where be more babies more STD's (if no condoms) Teens will still have sex no matter what being protected or not.

I suggest you choose one of these options:

    1) You get a job, even though your fiance works irregular hours.

    2) Stop having intercourse. (Not the same as stopping sex.)

    Or find a different option.

Just cause they don't do it anymore doesn't make them bad just be thankful they did anything for when there is absolutly no reason why anybody other than you should.

By that, I mean the bastards who cut off funding to Planned Parenthood because out of the many many women they help by providing birth control, they provide abortions to a few. That doesn't make a damn bit of sense -- cut off funding for the only resource many of us have to prevent unwanted babies, in hopes that somehow those increased unwanted pregnancies will result in fewer abortions...

Don't blame Planned Parenthood. They're not the ones who cut funding. They're doing the best they can with limited resources. My bet is that the rules changed in January, but they didn't start to enforce them until the money ran out. If your whole purpose in existing was to prevent unplanned pregnancies, wouldn't you bend the rules in this sort of situation as long as you could afford to?

Have you tried going to your local Department of Health? In my experience, many of them provide birth control on a sliding scale, just like Planned Parenthood does/did (did they just change the minimum fee level or do they now charge a flat fee to everyone?)... Since most state-run DOH offices do not (to my knowledge) provide abortions, they should have more funding available, tho they have to stretch it to cover more services...

Other than that, my best suggestion would be to invest in a diaphram. At the student health center here, where I pay $15/month for the pill, I was told it would be around $25 for a diaphram, & one will last for a couple of years if you take care of it properly. It's more of a pain in the ass, but it could save you a few bucks in the long run till you find a better option... Definitely cheaper than condoms for a couple of months!!!

As much as your situation sucks, it would be very irresponsible of you to continue having sex when you know very well what can happen when you don't have protection. If you do end up pregnant, it might sound a little harsh, but it's more your fault than anyone else's. I don't mean that in any kind of "keep your legs closed bitch" sort of way so please don't take it that way. All I'm saying is that you are an adult, you are capable of making your own decisions and if you know you might get pregnant by having unprotected sex, yet chose to do it anyway, you really can't blame anyone but yourself......and your b/f. Not having your pill sucks, but there are many other ways of preventing pregnancy that can be pretty cheap. Just because you're no longer getting it for free doesn't mean you're altogether fucked.

After reading men are from mars, women are from venus... AHEM

    Dear Danielle,
I agree with you, planned parent hood sucks. I can't believe that lady can do that to you, it seems quite logical for you to ask "why" they didn't charge you in february, I mean the change happened in JANUARY YOU KNOW? ... what was she (the authoritative figure) thinking?

and yea, most women your age can't afford a pill, unless their boyfriends/fianceses' 1) are really old, 2 ) are really really 'freaky rich' nerds.

Also, it is good that you people are trying to do the right thing and it is very nice to see how much you love your fiancee ( I read your signature and profile ;) ). Still, our fascist government basically tempts us to do the wrong thing and you must not give in! , it is very good to hear that you are not... i hope.

Also, don't give up, by the looks of the way you "speak in my mind" as I read your post, It seems to me that you are very strong in controlling your senses.

YOU CAN KEEP IT UP AND LIVE WITH OUT SEX, YOU CAN DO IT! YOU GO GIRL!

    The end...

    Jedi rests his case.

    oh puhlease people

obviously obstaining from intercourse is not an option.

They're in love, and part of their relationship involves sex, and so it should.

Its completely irrational to assume that giving up sex is a viable option.

I dont take the pill, well normally, because it screws with my emotions, my cycle and my skin. Normally the pill (3-4 months) costs about $20 AUS so about $13 US, except your drugs are much more expensive because you dont have a Perscription Benefits system like ours.

Problem is it has progesterone, a derivative of testosterone, which is what my body is disagreeing with

to get the one with female hormones in it,which will fix my skin up, it will cost me $60 AUS.. I cant afford that, and I wouldnt like to be in a position where those were my only option.

    I'm behind ya sista!

    I have been perscribed

This is like "Give me free stuff and if you don't you're bad people."

But forget Planned Parenthood. What about the man in this case? He has a job, even if he works irregularly. So he has some money, and he's one of the two people having sex. He can just get himself down to the drugstore and pick up the necessary stuff, can he not? Or he could hand over a few bucks to his lady so she can use the method of her choice, even walking into Planned Parenthood and laying down cash on the counter if that's what she wants to do.

It seems to me that the blame here isn't going to the right place.

Yes, it is. Unfortunately, that is exactly the case in some situations. Certain things should be available at a reduced rate, or free, depending on the financial circumstances of the person who needs it. Yes, the fiance has a job, so should have money. However, how much is left after rent, electricity, gas to get to work, groceries, etc.? 40 hours a week at $6 an hour (better than min. wage) is NOT a living wage. That means, at that income level, the person is unable to provide for him/herself, muchless himself & a partner...

I agree. It should go to the people like Bush, who would prefer to keep the masses in poverty by paying significantly less than a living wage, deny birth control so that those impoverished people have more mouths to feed & less time to complain, & cut social services so that those poor people can not get the help they need... But, then, I guess it's their fault for being poor, what's wrong with these lazy bastards who don't want to work 80-100 hours a week? Before you point out that the girl here doesn't have a job, she has already stated the transportation issues that are preventing her from working as long as her partner has an erratic schedule. He should look for a job that would offer more regular hours, but if he makes half as much money there it wouldn't really be an improvement, would it?

How bout I wont stop having sex I love sex with my man thank you and I thought I was being responsible getting on birth control. And if I get pregnant so be it. I was being adult enough to get on birth control cause I was doing the adult thing having sex. Im 20 years old im not a child. about 75% of the girls I went to school with have bout 3 kids now and im being irresponsible. Oh please seems to me they are the ones that should stop having sex yet they don't. So why should someone like my self that knows I cant really afford child and trying to avoid that till him and I are ready be criticized for my choice to make love with my man? Im not out their being a slut I have sex with one partner my life partner my Fiance and for as to where my man is in the case he is right be side me all the way. and he makes minimum wage. Oh wait its not $5.15 any more he got a raise woohoo hes making $5.40 now.And we have bills. There is not shit here in Kentucky. But he's going to college trying to make something of him self. We do want a family one day in a few years but not now. I want him to finish school and I want a good job and him one and for us to financially stable 100% before we have a child. Not to say that if we had a child it wouldn't be well taken care of. IM not asking for welfare, food stamps or any thing like that just asking for alit help so that I don't need help. If him and I had a child right now it would be alittle tight in money wise but you know what we have family. and our selfs. god forbid us trying to do the right thing.

And i do agree he should get a better job but its Kentucky not much here to begin with and every thing else is $5.15 a hour but has applacations in every place that could be better pay. Once he gets a better paying stable job i can then as well have a ride to work. Its hard for him to get a job in Kentucky and he is in college. What hope do i have? a factory thats what ill end up at a temporay service. but i dont care a job would be nice. Its not like i just dont wanna work i just need him on a stable job so i can have transportation

Well, maybe you should apply for food stamps and/or welfare? (if you qualify) it would help a lot, then, surely, you could buy the pills. btw just how much are they?

Did anyone notice that my suggestion was not to stop having sex, just stop having the kind of sex that could result in pregnancy?

Ever heard of self control, or responsibility? It really does suck that you've lost your pills, I can relate to that because I'm not currently on any birth control eith, and it fucking bites. But it's selfish of you to risk having a baby and then blaming planned parenthood for it. You are a grown woman, not some 15 year old kid. It's time to suck it up and start showing some responsiblity, and if that means not having sex all the time then that's just what you're going to have to do for now until you can get back on birth control.

Have you tried going to the health department? They usually give free or reduced shots/BC pills for people with lower incomes.
