mmmm...pipes. whether you reach for a briar or a bong, a pipe is a universally recognizable symbol of indulgance and contentment. pipes can be used to ingest so many enjoyable or sacred substances...my two favorites are, predictably, tobacco and marijuana. i used to smoke over a pack of cigarettes a day. i was a hardcore nicotine addict, but i never really enjoyed my tobacco too much, and it was gone in the blink of an eye. then i discovered cigars, and i quit smoking cigarettes but still smoked daily. for the first time in my life, i've started to REALLY like tobacco. but because it's actually harder on the system, and because the nicotine is introduced much more slowly, my need to constantly bombard myself with nicotine has vanished. sometimes i'll only smoke once a day. heavy smoking to me these days is smoking more than twice in one day. then i discovered the pipe. i prefer cigars still, much cooler burning, and i haven't sampled too many pipe tobaccos yet, but the pipe is wonderful as well. you have to have a decent one, and good tobacco, and you have to learn to smoke it right or you'll burn your tongue and it will be an unpleasant experience. but let me tell you, i worked from 3 until almost 11:30 today, and had a great day for the most part, but it just got better and better as the night progressed. much of this was due to various pipes. early on in the day i had two beers and a good amount of pot, from a glass spoon, a bubbler, and a vaporizer. during my half hour dinner break i took one or two nice hits of some good nuggets out of my one hitter and then filled up on chipotle food.... on my way out of work i filled my pipe {not that you need to know, but its a savinelli duca carlo...i intend to buy a better one eventually} with some dunhill tobacco (durbar) and started smoking some of it on my drive home...along with another hit of pot...absolutely great tobacco with a wonderful, mellow taste. i start unwinding quite a bit listening to music with the windows down...its a muggy spring night, warm enough to not need a jacket. there's a thunderstorm out there somewhere with good lightning and a little thunder, but at the moment the rain's stopped in my area. the best weather in the world for driving around smoking with the windows down. i got home, put out the pipe and set it on the porch to wait for me. chilled a couple beers while i ate a snack. got quite stoned with about half a bowl left over from earlier out of my nice blue spoon, and add a little fresh stuff to it. i finished the bowl and lit up my tobacco again while starting a beer. lowenbrau...then i had a spaten (i got a 12 of lowenbrau and a 6 of spaten....my take on them: l - its ok. definitely drinkable and decent tasting, but nothing to write home about. not impressed, per se, but i wouldn't turn one down, and hey - it beats corona any day of the week... s - its ok. still, not terribly impressed but this one i actually do enjoy quite a lot and would buy again once in a while....really nice head on this.....my opinion on both of them....pretty good for beer from a ghetto supermarket) finished my pot, finished my durbar...but wait! i bet my vape's warmed up by now did you need to know any of this? no....was it interesting? probably not, but i'm on my third beer and pretty stoned and consequently don't care.... just musing on the pipe and how pleasing it is....a little dedication to it. to make it a bit more stonery: if you like pipes, post here
Theres nothing better then that calm before the storm. I don't smoke tobbacco but I love pipes of course. Just purchased a good vap too (VapoBrothers), looking forward to trying it out this weekend.
Nesta: Have you tried Durango Cigars? I'm good friends with the owner; he owned the cigar bar I used to work at. Although now that I think about it, they don't ship to any stores in Ohio. However you can order them off their website durangocigars.com. They are quite a pleasant smoke. The filler is pipe tobacco. It is quite the blend. If you get around to trying them let me know what you think.
