I currently live with my girlfriend and her friend. Her friend and I have an awkward relationship, there seems to be a lot of sexual tension between us. A few weeks back we were all off our faces and the question of a threesome came up. My girlfriend didn't want to do it, my housemate did. My girlfriend is going out next Friday night to a party, and me and the housemate will be alone in the house for a night. I proposed we have a couple of drinks together and she agreed. I would really like to sleep with her just this once, to relieve the tension and have a bit of fun. I still want to be with my girlfriend, but I would love to do this also. Anyone have any experience of doing anything like this? I don't want people to reply telling me I'm doing the wrong thing. That's pretty obvious.
Do you really think it will relieve the tension? There are a lot of people who start off thinking this but then once you have her did you ever think about that maybe the tension will build more because now you've teased yourself with a taste of her? This could backfire in more than one way. Seriously you should really think about what you are doing.
Are you doing this behind your girlfriends back ? if you are, you are cheating on her. Give her some respect, before you start sleeping with another woman, talk to your girlfriend, if she is okay with it, then go for it, if she is not okay with it, then either don't do it or break up with her.
ITA. And I noticed you said you wanted to do it just this once. Well it's obvious that you 2 are into each other, which means it will most likely happen again. Then there are more feelings involved, not to mention the carrying on a relationship behind gf's back. Man I've been there and it's a no-win situation. You should really open up to your girlfriend. i think ive been in a similar situation seven or eight times. i always think that itll relieve the tension and i wont have to worry about being attracted to someone im not 'supposed' to be attracted to, but in most cases, it not only just creates more tension and attraction, but also blows up in my face and then i lose both of my lovers, both of my close friends. and although i love everyone involved, (my lovers' partners included) i struggle with the idea of good/bad and monogamous relationships. i cant make myself feel that expressing love is ever bad, [i dont even believe in good and bad!] but i dont want to hurt anyone, especially people i love, by being dishonest with them. i feel ya man. whatever you do, i dont think youre wrong, but i do think you have a choice to make, and you can choose to avoid guilt, if not suffering.
As best as I can tell there are types of people who can have a monogomous relationship, and those that simply are not suited to them. Maybe there are shades of grey. But you gotta figure out where you stand on that and where your girlfriend stands. If you both are OK on more open relationships, then things would work out. But if one of you wants it more open and the other wants monogamy, then you both are going to have to compromise somehow. And if she wants a monogomous relationship, and you are seeing someone else AND she doesn't know, someone is gonna get upset. Think it though, decide what you feel is right, and do it. I can only say, secrets will not help.
