Yeah, they're pretty good. Have you checked out BRMC, Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Out Crowd, Spiritualized, and the Warlocks as well?
I like the music. But the guys in that band have an amazing ability to come across as complete egomaniacs.
I agree. I get the feeling they think they're pretty hot shit, which may not even be justified. I think their albums have pretty much gotten weaker with each release since ...The Dandy Warhols Come Down in '97. I think their latest album, Odditorium or Warlords of Mars is by far their weakest, and I wouldn't even recommend buying it. Their first two albums are quite good, though.
Yeah, it's cool when you can talk about music with people who know what you'r e talking about. esp. the first three songs
The Dandy Warhols are amazing! And part of the appeal is that they think they're hot shit, definitely. Haha, what a wonderful band.
agreed!! i love that album. probably one of my top 10 at least. How about a little belle & sebastian? not really the same groove, but amazing nonetheless. :&
I just bought "If You're Feeling Sinister" a couple weeks ago. It's not bad, maybe I'll get into it more after a few more listens.
Dandy Warhols are a top notch band. Brian Jonestown Massacre are also really gd and are finally comin to Belfast so I can see them live Anyone here seen the film Dig? Such a good film about them both.
Yeah, I liked the Dig! documentary, it has to be taken with a grain of salt though. If the BJM are playing as good as they were on friday and saturday, you'll be in for a fucking great show. Anton posted Saturday's show on his myspace blog. Just click on the "the concert saturday" link. They played for 3 1/2 hours. The concert part doesn't start until about 30 minutes into the file. http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=926016&blogID=114158894&MyToken=87ec6480-beda-4c8f-8eee-15de08793690
my boyfriend owns dig and always talks about how it's such a great documentary. I have yet to see it though.....just have to get in the right groove to be able to watch a music documentary. You dig? no pun intended.......... really. like really.
You should watch the BJM commentary part where the Warhol's are recording "Bohemian Like You". Joel starts ripping on them, it's pretty funny.
dig is the shiz 13 tales is an amazing album, as said beofre the first few songs are a really good opener but come down atm is my fav. !
