i agree with you dude, i admit myself that it's not with an attitude like mine that things will change lol, it's discusting what i see around me, even if i'm not a part, i'm sure you are witnesses too, you see all theses people, and i specially talk about people around my age (by the way i may have dificulties to express myself, i dont speak english too good), they're like people with masks, many are ther and are thinking about how make money, all the fraud trics i'v been told about, that i tried even myself for some, all theses clothes styles, theses attitudes, it's been a while i am analysing situations, when i go out with friends, then we see other people we know, from school or else, some of them are trying to prove something to others (in a good or a bad way), sometimes people are just bored as fucked, it's like we're here and dont think, it's empty, ther's nothing to do, all theses fucking street gangs things (i dont know if they realize how stupid and ridiculus this is), theses blood and crips shit, you see it everywere........ with all the people i talk to, i cant get trough nobody, an example: i once mentioned about the philosophical toughs that mushrooms can produce on people, the more spiritual side, people looked at me like (what the fuck?), "dude i'm just too fucking stupid on that thing, i dont understand shit lol" example of what i heard once, you se in theses people eyes they laugh, they're like all in they're little world, following a kind of fashion (the commercial rap of today), but it's not everyone i have dificulties to express myself lol, but anyways, what i'm trying to say, is that i am clearly demotivated of even trying to make a change, i have tried but i feel like i'm alone or even if ther's maybe other people, it's never the same, ther's always like a wall or i dont know
You english seems fine man... And yeah, I guess if I had to see your perspective on the whole thing I would probably be a little more cynical too. There are like absolutely NO gangs around here and stuff like that. A LOT of crazy rednecks, but no gangs. Just take the advice of Ghandi "Be the change you wish to see in the world". Try to spread peace and love everywhere you go man. You know just do your part. Then if nothing changes, at least you tried man. That is commendable most deffinately.
i didnt ment that here we're surounded by gangs lol, but it sounded like this but i didnt meant it, of course they are present, but in a way we dont care about it, well in my kind of people case we dont, of course ther is violence sometimes everywere but it's kind of quite in general, not necesaraly gang related
Yeah man, I know what ya mean. Around here, there are NO gnangs at all. But we have redneck type violence... It isn't too widespread, but it is still there.
over here, it's more young people influenced by the "gangsta rappers lifestyle", you know why it's ridiculus and even more for some people, many of them are sons of rich parents, they have a real nice life, they have everything they want and they're taking themselves for i dont know who but today it's even more on the other side, they wear the g-unit's clothes and everything that can be related to a rap star like jay-z's rockawear, they represent money... and beside that, in the school were i go, most of the people are far from being poor, but it's always theses people who wont give a cent or even wont even think of giving a friend a beer if he bought it with his money, i just looked at how they are hypocrite between themselves an example (happened for real)): we were 4, one dude bought himself a case of 6 beers, he was the only one to drink them, for the only reason he payed for it and he had to get drunk, if he would give a beer he wouldnt be drunk, or not that much...i mean damn, are theses people your friends or what? you have a fucking job, we are broke as fuck and you are drinking 6 beers in front of our face, and it seems for you normal sorry i maybe went too off-topic but i had to tell this
yea man i see what your sayin, we live in a society now where its all about "how can i help myself out", its not about how can i help out myself and others, which unfortunately is the basis of capitalism, its all about survival of the fittest, nobody cares about helpin out other people its all about themselves.
i agree with hemp726 " agree with you man, but liek i think, i may be wrong, but alot of us who want to start something and make a change have no idea where to start."
back to the original post, i think by lumping hippies into the stereotypical category of followers of a culture immitating old hippies is in itself agreeing with society's tendency to categorize everything "hippies" isn't an exclusive category with registration cards- and even today the meaning of it is starting to change if you travel the world, which i haven't done, and notice every type of "hippie", you may find out that its just another name to associate yourself and describe yourself with... in the ends its just a bunch of people with the rare ability to look into themselves and their reality more than others peace
