1993: After a 51-day siege, U.S. federal agents storm the Branch Davidian compound in Waco, Texas; a fire breaks out killing at least 80 Branch members and leader David Koresh.

1995: A truck bomb blows up outside the Alfred P. Murrah federal building in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; 168 people are killed.

 

I know they're unconnected, but it's got me thinking whether people "pick" dates to committ atrocities based on past events..

I went to the memorial for the Oklahoma City bombing. It was quite an experience.

 

I've notice that sometimes people choose dates to do some nice things, too. Everyone seems to be that little bit nicer every 25th December each year.
