'UK police to be cleared for fatal error'

Caption: Jean Charles de Menezes was shot eight times by police

None of the police officers who took part in last year's London Underground shooting of a Brazilian man, wrongly identified as a terrorist suspect, will face charges, a British newspaper says.
Quoting a top lawyer reviewing the case for the Crown Prosecution Service, The Sun tabloid said there appeared to be insufficient evidence of criminal offences in the killing of Jean Charles de Menezes on July 22 last year.
As a result, no charges will be made against the officers who shot the electrician or the senior figures in charge of the operation, the daily said.
Its source, identified as "an authoritative legal" figure, told the newspaper: "Mistakes were made but they do not amount to criminal misconduct.

    Fatal error

"The firearms officers were acting under orders. Those in charge of surveillance believed he was a suspect. Steven: Let's kill all the suspected People, what do you think?
"There is no realistic prospect that they will be prosecuted." Steven: Why wasting the time, why bothering yourselves, he was a Muslim, it doesn't matter dudes. Get over it man, he will be forgotten. If he was suspected we don't need to be sure whether he was a real terrorist or suspected as long as he is a Muslim. Good idea isn't it. So just kill whoever*Muslim* you doubt it, even if you don't have evidences.
The Sun noted, however, that such an outcome may put more pressure on Sir Ian Blair, the Metropolitan Police chief, to take responsibility for the fatal error.
Blair has faced calls to resign from friends and relatives of De Menezes.
The Brazilian was killed on a train in Stockwell Underground station in London a day after a failed attempt to mimic the July 7 suicide bombings in the British capital which left 56 people dead.
The 27-year-old was shot by mistake (Steven: see it was a mistake let's forgive them and the Bulgarian nurses shouldn't be put to death for their deliberate killing of innocent children in Libya, it was deliberate I believe) under a controversial shoot-to-kill policy for suspected suicide bombers. Police shot him eight times. (Steven: Why wasting all these bullets, one is enough, don't repeat it again, keep it and store it for other suspected Muslims. Best wishes. )

I'm pretty sure this guy was Catholic.

The shooting seems to be egregious in my opinion, but, with bombings in the previous days, suspects still on the loose, a shoot-to-kill order, and everyone on a panicky edge, this was probably inevitable.

    Hi Iconoclast =)
Do you mean The Brazilian! why is that?
I think if they are terrified, they should control it, cannot leave the work till you'll be healed, one bullet was enough, at least in its legs or something so they can take him to the court and make investigations to know whether he was terrorist or innocent, why not using this gun which they use it for the animals, he will lose his consciousness, then they can make their investigations, so if the results say, he is innocent well, he is OK and fine, healthy isn't maimed he just lost his consciousness, whether he was Muslim or non-Muslim this is not fair, this is Haram :( Thank you for your reply

I remember reading several articles that mentioned that he wasn't muslim. Being from South America, I assumed he was Catholic since S. America is 80-90% Catholic.
The police were under orders to shoot the head only if they were confronted with a suicide bomber. These cops were fed information from surveillence who reported that they had seen a suicide vest under his coat. The cops did what they were told to do. Blame primarily lies with the clowns who fed them the incorrect information since surveillence recordings do not back up what they relayed to the officers on the ground. It was an ugly situation all around. I doubt the officers are real proud of what they did.
