I went to a country house this weekend and on friday i found some 6 or 7 mushrooms, i have never tried mushrooms, but a friend told me how to identify them, so im pretty sure they are the real thing. my question is, i collected them on friday and placed them in a paper envelope, so i didnt let them dry, i only placed them on the sun to dry sunday morning. do you think that i may have spoil them? and also, for me being new to this how many and how should i take them, should i make a tea, or eat them as they are?
damn, i spoiled them for sure, i opened the envelope just now to see how they were doing, and there were a lot of little white things(larvas) all over them. I should had dry them in the first day, but i was at a place were i wasnt neither able to consume them nor dry them properly, now i think ill never have the chance to experience mushrooms again, im a jackass!!
if you cant find any just buy some brother, and you better be careful if your just picking em, some deadly ones look a lot like edibles.
Man don't just go picking mushrooms and eating them, regardless of what your friend said. You could die, very quickly (less than an hour) and it would be pretty painful.
i´m pretty sure they were psilocybe cubensis, i was in the country there were lots of cows and lots of cow shit, and on top of them the mushrooms, so i picked the ones i could find, i know they were the real thing and i spoiled them.
you have to make a sporeprint once you are pretty sure about the id ...if it had turned purple well i guess it would have been good. but you are never 100% sure of id before you ask someone who really knows his shit lots of other mushrooms grow on shit and fields. Some look like cubes but will just make you sick for days.
If it has just rained and the shrooms are wet when they start drying they will rot, so you have to pick them when they are dry!
