anybody can respond but i'd like to have a response from bill seeing as how he knows everything when you actually inhale a 'hit' of marijuana smoke, what percentage of the thc content in that metered inhalation is actually absorbed into your body theres no real application in mind when i ask but when you think about it, you're exhaling alot of smoke and i find it hard to believe that most of the thc is gone from that puff of smoke, and it would seem that that cloud of thc being blown into the air is a waste
i imagine a fair bit of THC is wasted, not sure what percentage (or how it would be measured) maybe you could breathe smoke repeatedly from a balloon like a nitro whippit to save wastage.
i dont know everything, like i dont know the answer to this i dont think anyone does though, its a quantitative question and quantitative questions are impossible to answer because every organism is quantitatively different. so even if i knew how much it was for me, ro some dude, i wouldnt know how much it is for you, and while it could be the same, it could also be very different. but i can tell you the factors that will influence how much thc is absorbed. time that the hit is held in for - i remember there was a study that said the majority of thc is absorbed in the first 6 seconds of holding smoke in. so after around 10 seconds, almost all of it would safely be in your body concentration of smoke, and porportion of this smoke which is cannabinoids - the higher the concentration of cannabinoids, the faster the cannabinoids will be transferred into your body from the smoke (but also the more cannabinoids that must be absorbed - which can require longer holding in to get ALL the cannabinoids) size of lungs - smaller lungs generally will have a higher surface-area to volume ratio, which would result in faster absorbtion. however this is only significant if the amount of smoke inhaled is relative to the size of lungs. in some cases, the amount of smoke in a big lung and small lung will be the same, and in this case, the big lung will absorb it quicker. smoking habits (marijuana and tobacco) - heavy smoking habits result in high mucous and tar levels in the lungs, and these foreign chemicals prevent absorbtion of all sorts of things into the lungs which they coat. to respond to your emotive drive to ask this question - if you hold it in for 10 seconds, you wont be wasting the thc. but any longer than that (even that long actually) and youre just fucking up your lungs heaps and its not worth it.
