just out of curiousity how long did it take some of yours' labret peircings to heal? mine's taking fucking ages, and albeit i'm not taking great care of it -i smoke alot and drink and dont rinse my mouth out after every one of those- i still soak it with salt water every day....... can they just not heal for some people? it worries me cuz i love it, i want to keep it -mooka
well i didn't get my labret done, i got the side of my lip (see sig picture), and it took a good week or two to start really healing. the first week was A BITCH, eating was hard and it bled and hurt when i talked and swelled up like a mofo. my lips are quite big and i've got big vessels all over the place (i think lol), and healing was not easy. I was going to take it out at one point, but decided against it, and man am I glad I kept it. Just stick through it, you'll be good not to be an ass, but you are kind of asking for it with the smoking and drinking... my friend drank beer quite a bit after his lip was done, and it never did heal even after like two months. it slows it down amazingly. i'd just say cut down on the drinking/smoking, clean out your mouth every time you DO smoke or drink, and continue with normal sanitation.
how long is "fucking ages"? mine took a while to fully heal, like, a few months. but now i've had it for a loooong time and haven't had a single problem with it.
mine didn't take long at all....infact after the first 2-3 days, it felt fine. I didn't do too much as far as cleaning, either. I would put bactine on it every day or two for the first while, but that was about it. I just had to get used to eating again and not getting it caught in my teeth.....guess i had better luck with it than anyone else. There's the odd day that it would just hurt, but not so bad that it bothered me......
